As I type this, the crew from Law & Order SVU is cleaning up from yesterday and from what I know understand early this morning. Why I missed them is explained as thus:
I was getting ready for work yesterday morning. My roommate just left for work but she called my phone. My phone has been acting muffled so I really couldn't understand what she was saying. As I walk out the door of my apartment building, I am wammied with my entire street (Thayer is kinda small) FILLED with what looks to this small town Ohio girl like a movie set/production. Local neighbors are hanging out outside as usual. I check for some ultra fancy trailor that I would assume a major star like Jennifer Lopez and seeing none, assume it's nothing special.
After work, I come home to what seems like not much going on (though the huge trailors are still on my block). Whatever. I need to clean my room, take a shower, etc. anyway. So about 10ish last night, as I was talking to my roommate and her friend, she mentions the LAW & ORDER SVU set outside. I say "WHAAAAAA!", she says "I called you and told you this morning! I walked out of our building and saw Ice-T!"
Dammmmmnn....now I'm bummed cause I've missed my chance to stalk Ice-T and the crew of SVU. Sure, Law & Order is constantly filming somewhere in New York on any given day (just a few weeks ago the original was filming outside my work) but this is SVU! and ICE-T! (Has anyone seen how bad-ass he was on "Cribs"!?!?)
So I wake up this morning and my very cute and cuddly boyfriend, who stayed up later than I, proceeds to tell me that he HEARD Ice-T outside my window at 4am. Again, I'm like "WHAAAAAA! and you didn't wake me up!?!?!?"
And now they're cleaning up....
(Many) Moral(s) of the Story:
-Don't buy cheap phones from Sprint because when you really need to hear people on the other end of your line, you can't!
-Don't assume that filming crews are done, instead stand outside in the f*ing cold for hours on end waiting for them to resume or come back (even if it means not sleeping).
-Don't date native New Yorkers who don't understand how much I think it's cool to run into Law & Order sets all over New York, ESPECIALLY when ICE-T is right outside my bedroom window!
**Okay, just kidding on that last one. My boyfriend is pretty amazing despite his (large) error this morning ;]**
