I move to New York August 25th!!!!

Several months ago, I was walking through the local library and happened upon a book that was of interest to me (topic: The Myths of Free Trade) by an Ohio Democrat who was notoriously running against Rep. Mike Dewine for US Senate. I was shocked, perhaps floored would be a better way to describe it. A Democrat? Talking against Free Trade? An Ohio Democrat at that! I had begun to think that Democrats all agreed with Clinton when he passed NAFTA and thus all hope was lost for the American working class and the world's working class, in respect to politics at least. That is, until Sherrod Brown.

I met him last night. I went to some fancy-schmancy political fundraiser at the Catawba Island Yacht Club. Thankfully my well-connected boss invited me because he knew how much I enjoyed Sherrod's book. And not only did I meet him, but I got a free autographed copy of this book and found out his daughter, who is an activist, goes to Columbia and I "should look her up." Well yeah!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: If Ted Strickland wins Governor and Sherrod wins Senate, there is hope for Ohio yet, and that means hope that if or when I come back, they'll actually be a foundation to rebuild Ohio from.
