Let's see here, since I last spoke ...
WORK IS FINISHED FOR THE SUMMER! All I have to say about that is a resounding Woo Hoo! Money is made, time was spent, and now it is done. Yipee!!
Things I have watched:
Superman Returns
On the whole, not quite good enough for me to completely forgive Singer for leaving X-3 to die in the dung heap, but it was pretty good for a summer movie. The laws of physics defyed in that movie = tooo priceless for words! I stopped counting the improbable ones and just stuck with the impossible, and STILL got to 35 before giving up. It was really cheesily predictable too, but it achieved the impossible - it made me actually not be bored to death with Superman. The superman IS JESUS was more than a little bit too heavy handed, and he was pretty emo at times, but I felt like he was human. (Which, given that he actually isn't was a pretty big achievement)
Slings and Arrows
Hee! LOVE! Still can't quite find season 3 yet, but am coping by re-watching season 1 with Lisa Marie. (Who is in fact actually hooked as well, so all is of the good) Have decided that Paul Gross should NEVER comb or cut his hair short. He doesn't usually do much for me, but for some reason him as crazy!Geofferey = love (and teh sex).
Hard Core Logo
Can I just say that extreme drugs were involved in the making of that film? WOW ... there are really no words for it. I honestly can say that I really liked and enjoyed it, but I couldn't give you one concrete reason why. Callum Keith Renne attempting to pretend to play the guitar was HILARIOUS. I've seen people air guitar more convincingly, so that was fun. And the scene where the band gets high ... well, I think that the creators of the movie may have actually been high while filming, so I suspect the authenticity was high. In conclusion for this, I will probably only watch again if drunk or using for background noise to write papers and such. But I think that it will be very much fun for these purposes!
More Due South
Have FINALLY gotten around to actually watching bits of season 2. OMG!! Vecchio is such love! This show really rocks my collective socks, it really does. I mean, what other fandom would I actually proclaim a love for an OT3? Really, I can't think of any other one!
Other bits:
Stratford!
I AM GOING!!!!!! Lisa Marie, her mom, my mom and Stephie get to do a girls weekend thing. AND I CAN'T WAIT! Twelfth Night, Ye Adorable Towne of Stratforde, and a chance to hunt for the poster of Paul Gross playing Hamlet from the 2000 season all in one fell swoop with my best friend!! What more could you ask for in terms of having AMAZING parents?
Music
I think that I have made the most random mix CD ever, even for me. Behold, the schitzoid mix of Shelly:
Wild and Crazy - Division of Laura Lee
The Show Must Go On - Elton John and Queen
Please Forgive Me - Brian Adams
All the Small Things - blink 182
Who the Hell Do You Think You Are - Hard Core Logo
Stand - Rascal Flatts
Anarchy in the UK - Sex Pistols
What You Own - RENT
32 Down on the Robert Mackinsey - Paul Gross
Everything You Are - Goo Goo Dolls
You - Switchfoot
Unconditional - The Bravery
So Far Away - Staind
Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones
Daniel - Elton John
I've Got a Dark Alley ... - Fall Out Boy
We Didn't Start the Fire - Billy Joel
And I think that this is pretty much me up to date. Am going to Half Price Books tomorrow to find reading material for the car and buying Privelage of the Sword from Borders!! Really can't wait to read that one - will probably have that finished before we leave, so I suspect that my reading for the car will probably consist of fics that I am going to print off, but hey! Fanfiction is a valid lifestyle choice, right?
