BOOK CLUB: Recommendation lists

Mar 11, 2008 09:20

Everyone who signed up for this round should have received an email with their assigned reading list. You will have the next five weeks to read at least one of the books on the list you have received.

As a reminder of the change in system, the community will remain unmoderated throughout the reading and posting/discussion period, which means that any member of the community is welcome (but not obliged) to post to the community about any topic regarding books in general. We ask though that you save your posts on the books for this round's theme until the posting/discussion period in the sixth week.

If you've signed up to read for this round, you should make a book discussion post, with your thoughts and reactions, during the posting/discussion period: April 14-20. As usual, you are welcome to read more than one book and make more than one post. You can also simply link to a post you make in your own LJ or blog about the book(s) you read.

You are not required to finish the book, but we recommend that you read enough to discuss it in detail. Book discussion posts do not have to be organized reviews or critical analyses of the book in question; their purpose is to share your thoughts and provide a jumping point for discussions.

To sum up: if you've signed up to read for "religion", your minimum responsibilities are to read one book from the list you were assigned and make a post about it to bibliophages during: April 14-20. (Of course, we'll be perfectly happy if you want to do more than the minimum.)

The complete list of all recommendations will be posted later today. Members who have not signed up for this round are still welcome to read any of the books on the list and post their thoughts during the posting period as well.
