I had never had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich until I was 17 years old. I love them a lot now, and I wonder quite often why my mom never made them for me when I was little.
Today my mom was talking about her mom. When her parents got divorced, she lived with her mother with her older sister and younger brother. My grandma was an alcoholic. My mom made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for herself all the time until my grandma died of liver failure when my mom was 16 years old.
I didn't know that until today.
I feel like I'm getting older.
