Our AIDS Walk Organizing Committee had a booth at the market today. It went really well! Lots of people stopped by, asked about the Walk. We had these "Gogo" angels out. "Gogo" is "grandmother" in Zambia, I think. Anyhow, Campus ministry made them (just little dolls out of clothespines and fabric) as a tribute to the grandmothers who look after the children whose parents have died from AIDS. Lots of little kids wanted them and the really ecclectic people at the market, and people would ask what they were and we'd explain and then of course the HAD to buy one. They weren't at a set price, just a donation, but one lady gave us $20 for one! It was awesome! It restored my faith in people :)
The more I work on this Walk, the more passionate I become for the cause. It's an awesome feeling. I pray we have a huge turnout. I'd love to see all of Fredericton just show up on campus all pumped and excited about this!
