Author's Note: Under The Rose, is a term used for secrecy or confidentiality, and dates back to the old time, I was planning the title's meaning for a bit different plot, but Kikwang's character came to life, and refused to just settle down as a simple man, and so brought this story to life.  Please enjoy! It's been like forever since I've written Kpop~

Sub Rosa - Under The Rose

Part I.

Yong Junhyung was a clever man, a handsome man, & a very powerful man. Yong Junhyung was everything a girl wanted in a man. He was also the son of the wealthy Yong family. Having everything he ever wanted in life, Junhyung would spend most of it, bored with everything really.

Nothing interested him. Women bore him. And everything else seemed meaningless to him.

Until.....Junhyung met Lee Kikwang, everything changed then.

It wasn't another love at first sight thing for Junhyung. Despite Junhyung finding men attractive as well, he didn't find Kikwang attractive, but that was because he spent most of his time angry at the younger male or trying to show the younger how much he disliked the younger.

Their first meeting was at the Louvré: Fountain of Love. A statue of a girl in a knee-length dress, hair open, smiling brightly, and her arms spread wide open. From her hands the water would sprout. She was based on a modern version of Aphrodite. The fountain was a place for couples to enjoy. It was also said that whoever would go to the fountain alone, would be able to meet their true love. But of course Yong Junhyung didn't pay attention to gossip or rumors of the fountain. He was a wealthy man; he had no need for rumors. All he had known about the fountain was that it was a beautiful fountain, and was popular amongst couples. But Junhyung should've paid more attention to rumors; after all, they existed for a reason, didn't they? Most rumors are partially true, in the end, but not all, sadly.

Junhyung was walking, a scowl on his face, slightly angry at everyone and everything. He decided to stomp around the area, until he could cool off a bit, and relax.

He had been sitting on the fountain's edge when he spotted a man dressed in a black & red duster, with black trousers, black boots, black gloves, with a vacant look on the pretty face. Something stirred from within him, and before he knew it. He was already calling out to the man.

And was ignored twice. He felt angry, and thought bitterly 'Who is this man to dare ignore, me?! Yong Junhyung.'

He was wearing a scowl, when the man had turned, a confused look on the youthful face. "Yes? Did you call for me?"

He felt angry enough to rudely reply "No~ I was waiting for the imaginary elf to come greet me." but his mother had raised him better than that, so instead he told him, "I did. Who are you?"

The man smiles, a sweet smile that made Junhyung feel weird. He ignored the feeling, and focused on the boy in front of him.

The man's eyes shrunk into crescent-like shapes, as he uttered "But shouldn't you introduce yourself first? I mean, after all, you're the one who wants to know my name. And I like knowing who I'm giving out my name to, just in case something happens". An eerie look had filled the pretty-ugh! What was Junhyung thinking?! Calling that man pretty, he was rude. And bothersome! Junhyung wished the other would just tell him his name, so he could be at peace.

He didn't even know why he wanted to know this man’s name so much. But the desire to know this man was strong, and his curious nature was beyond aroused at how mysterious this man was.

He sighed heavily, before snobbishly uttering. “My name is Yong Junhyung.”

“Oh, a Yong then? Interesting......my name Lord Junhyung, is Lee Kikwang. My friends call me Kiki though~” the man murmured, sounding mysterious one second, and teasing the next.

Junhyung frowned, it seemed like this man would be the death of him someday.

“Where do you come from Mr. Lee?”

“Me?” inquired Lee Kikwang.

“Yes, you.”

A small smile graced Kikwang’s lips. “Oh, from a small town up North.”

Junhyung’s interest had peaked slightly, as he wondered what towns existed North beyond the Kevala mountains.

“Does the town have a name?” Junhyung had asked, his curiosity evident in his tone.

And at that question, a sad look crosses the Kikwang’s pretty features, making Junhyung feel almost guilty for asking the question. A part of Junhyung wished he could wipe away the sad look, and cradle Kikwang in his arms, but Junhyung quickly shook away the desire, and waited.

After a few moments of silence, the fluttering of birds’ wings, running water, and faded chatter of people, Kikwang turned to face him, a forced smile on the luscious plump pink lips.

“It doesn’t matter now, does it? It’s already gone...”

Junhyung frowned again, not liking the answer, but he remained silent, realizing that the subject was a touchy one.

When he was about to speak again, to apologize for bringing up sad memories, Kikwang had already turned his head away from him, and Junhyung could notice the curve of Kikwang’s nape being rather highly attractive. Kikwang had uttered “but if you really want to know, come back again here, in a week’s time. By this very fountain, I might tell you then...”

There was a playful look on the youthful face, making Junhyung flush slightly at the twinkling brown eyes.

He agreed, slightly reluctant at the realization that this stranger, or rather Kikwang, was leaving soon. “Fine.”

A soft chuckle escaped the luscious plump lips, making Junhyung feel the urge to smile, which he ignored, and forced himself to look away.

But by the time he turned back, Kikwang was already gone, leaving Junhyung alone by the fountain.

He scowled at the fact that his mysterious yet intriguing stranger had left him alone, but just sighed once more, and stood up.

He had better things to do until their next meeting.
