It's Friday, and at 9 o'clock, evening time, Donghee's stomach growls, and the man frowns. His red lips form a grimace, when he remembers the last thing he had eaten was a cheese sandwich, at 8 o'clock in the morning, and the last thing he drank was a non-decaf black coffee, two hours earlier. Lieutenant Donghae looks up from his paperwork, and asks Shindong "You wanna grab some something to eat Detective Shin?" and Donghee shakes his head, glancing at the scattered papers, and pictures on his desk. His recent case was bothering him immensely, and left a foul taste in Donghee's mouth that he doesn't even notice Donghae leaving, only when the door clicks shut.

This week it had been a red-headed woman who had been slaughtered mercilessly, her head was hanging from a string attached to a lock of her hair. Her neighbor was the one who saw the body, on Sunday 9 a.m. The woman's name had been Rosa, she was half-Italian, half-Korean, her apartment was a mess, her furniture mostly trampled on, and her things decorated the floor with glass, as blood spilled her halls. On one of the walls written in blood was 'The Itsy Bity Spider fell again Shin, do tell, how will you save it from death Shin?' The message was clearly directed at him, but the message was rather disturbing. It always reminded him of the nursery rhyme his father used to sing to him when he was 4 years old.

"Itsy bity spider crawled up the water spout.

Down came the rain, and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain,

and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again."

It was his most favorite nursery rhyme, and the last one his father ever sang to him, before vanishing on a case about a serial killer. And when Donghee looked up cases similar to one about the red-headed woman whose head was hanging, Donghee frowns when case fills show one match.

A 22-year-old male from Seoul, killed in his apartment, was an orphan, single man, his head was also hanging from a thin wire, but the witness had been his widowed mother, who had died from shock. His father had been one of the cops assigned to the case, both his father and the detective on the case had mysteriously vanished, the detective had been found a year or two later, missing fingers, an arm, and a leg, and his eyes were gone, with blood pooling from his eyes. The pictures disgusted Donghee, and he's glad he hadn't eaten anything, or most of his food would've already been retched out.

He sighs softly before getting up, and arranging the papers based on witnesses, area reports, date and time, and crime rating. This criminal was a genius, but then again Detective Shin Donghee was no fool either.

He slumped against the ebony chair, and struggled to put the clues in place, how could a madman kill a woman, who lived by herself, and leave no witness or trace of ever being there? It was intriguing Donghee with every passing minute, but still the dots would not connect, and Donghee felt as if though he were missing something important, but before he could even guess what, the telephone rang, snapping Donghee out of his thoughts, as he answered the call.

"This is Detective Shin, what happened?"

"Detective Shin, sir there's been sightings of the Thief near downtown Seoul. And witnesses have reported seeing a male dressed in black, break into the museum. We'd like to ask if you and Officer Lee to check out the situation".

"I understand. We'll be there in five."

"Thank you sir. We'll be expecting you near the main doors." and Donghee ended the call right then after murmuring "It's my job." and a "bye" and slammed the phone hard after he heard the dial tone.

He let out a deep breath, and got up, headed out the door, grabbed his coat, handcuffs, badge, and gun just in case.

He didn't want to deal with 'The Thief' a 24-year-old man who started out as a burglar from a small village in the East, before he started robbing from banks, museums, and whatever he found appealing to his taste. The man always dressed in a leather pants, black boots, and a long-sleeved black shirt, and a mask on his eyes. He was very popular amongst the Korean people, because of his charm, and effective ploys, because not once has he ever entered jail, or failed to get something if he wanted it. The woman adored him, and the men wished they could be him. Donghee disliked him very much, especially because the man was a great charmer, who bothered Donghee from solving cases like the one he had been currently on. Another thing that bothered him was the man's casual way of addressing Donghee, and the fact that he called himself "The Thief"; Donghee thinks bitterly 'I mean, couldn't he come up with a cooler name, or something?' before gritting his teeth, and focusing on getting Donghae.

He pulled out his mobile phone, and called Donghae stating calmly "Lee, meet me by the car, we’ve got the Thief to catch" and scowls when he hears Donghae try to stifle his chuckles, as he utters "Sure Detective~" and ignored how much Donghae would tease him once they were in the car.

It took Donghae almost two minutes to reach the car, and because it was a police car, they used the sirens to reach the museum even faster. Shindong swore out loud as he left the car, feeling nauseous and glared at Donghae who only smirked at him. The police officer who had called them told him "Detective Shin, it's great that you're here. We have the museum surrounded on all 3 exists, including the entrance, and we haven't entered to give you a chance to capture the thief."

Donghee only nodded and murmured "thank you, we'll take it from here~", checking his gun on his side, and for his handcuffs, before walking into the museum.

The museum had been dark, and the light smell of dust tainted the air, the only dim light appearing from the glass ceiling 10 meters away from their location. Donghae handed Donghee a flashlight, before clicking his on, and moving it across the surfaces of the room, looking for anything out of place.

Donghee told Donghae that they'd split up, Donghee would go right to where all the statues, and portraits were, while Donghae would go left to where the jewelry and important artifacts were held.

As Donghee kept walking right, he noticed beautiful portraits and was lost in one called the 'Ruby Queen' of a woman with blood-red hair, beautiful light-brown eyes, pale skin, and a dark maroon dress, with rubies adorning the necklace around her neck. Her smile was almost cruel, but alluring, and a gold crown was on top of her red waves. He studied the picture for a moment, but before he can look away, and go back to searching for the thief, he was stopped by a voice uttering "Ah, Detective Shin, I'm glad you could make it. You don't know how happy one feels when he realizes that Korea's Greatest Detective is assigned to capture him. It's pretty damn intriguing to see what you'd do to me Detective" even though the voice is slightly deep, the words are uttered with a hint of amusement, and if Donghee is calculating correctly, was the Thief flirting?

Donghee flushed at the idea of such an absurd thought, and pursued his lips as he turned to find the masked offender smirking at him. The black leather shining slightly, as Donghee pointed his flashlight at the Thief. The shirt he wore clung to his torso, revealing a fit body, which made Donghee even more sure that was why females would never report him in, and sighed inwardly.

The Thief stepped closer, eyes twinkling behind the black mask, and lips still smirking as he asked playfully "So tell me Mr. Shin, how will you capture The Thief, the greatest thief in Korea, and the most sexiest one ever." and all Donghee could think was 'Can he get any more arrogant? It's annoying' and bit his lips to not swear out loud, he was a professional, and cursing like a drunken man would not help him capture The Thief any sooner.

He paged Donghae, as he moved his hands to pat his coat, pressing on the button firmly, before licking his lips, and asking "The Thief is only a man. You don't kill, you don't maim, you don't injure. I do though, and I will catch you even if at the cost of my life". The Thief raised an eyebrow, before pouting and telling Donghee "Aww and I thought we could have some fun before you lock me up~" his tone clearly teasing, and Donghee was lost between punching the man, and blushing, remembering Heechul when he went undercover a few months back, the elder had dressed as a hooker, and kept using all kinds of innuendos, about locks, chains, and handcuffs with Donghee, suddenly Donghee felt very warm all of a sudden, and knew he was blushing.

The Thief merely grinned before telling Donghee in a mock-insult tone "No no no, Mr. Shin you mustn't have such dirty thoughts", while moving closer to Donghee who had turned an even darker shade of red, and moved his hand to his gun, in case The Thief would attack him. "But I must admit, you look very pretty when you blush~" and Donghee tensed slightly, remembering those words, his eyes darkened, and a scowl came upon his soft features.

Not long before The Thief moved even closer to Donghee, that the detective could feel the man's breath tickle his neck, he heard Donghae calling out for him. The Thief smiled brightly before moving in close, his eyes twinkling with mischief, as he leaned down and captured Donghee's lips in a chaste kiss, whispering seductively "for you Detective Shin, I’d like if you called me Kangin, its less informal than 'The Thief'" his hand moving gently against Donghee's arms, almost fondly before he leaped backwards, pulled a rope out of a curtain, threw it up and climbed upwards, after it grabbed something.

He blew Donghee a kiss, before uttering "Goodbye Detective Shin, until we meet again~" his tone very flirtatious and promising. Donghee was frozen stiff from where he had been standing, angry that he was kissed by a criminal, a criminal that he was supposed to have captured, and taken in. And yet as his heart slightly raced, his cheeks were still red, and all Donghee could think was 'they were so soft' and inwardly berated himself for such thoughts, and felt sorry himself, he always was kissed and had never once initiated a kiss in his life as a detective, and curses Heechul for kissing him then, when he had been undercover.

Donghae appears running, and Donghee frowns when the younger man asks "Where'd he go?" and Donghee pointed upwards. Donghae gave him a skeptical look and asked "Why'd you let him go?" and when he looked at Donghee again he asked "Are you blushing? Or sick? I'm slightly worried..." Donghee sighed, and uttered "We were conversing, and he suddenly kissed me, I was kind of shocked and let him leave..." trailing off, the words feeling odd, and the shame that he felt when Donghae looked at him, made him bite his lower lips, and look away.

"You're serious?! You just let him go~" Donghae sputters out, before glaring at Donghee "You hit me after I kissed you~ for OUR undercover mission!" and Donghee is actually amused, and slightly frustrated, because the fact that Detective Shin let a criminal go because he was kissed was something quite uncommon. There was also the fact that Donghae was more annoyed that The Thief had kissed him, instead of getting angry at Donghee for letting The Thief go.

He sighed, and wondered why all his police partners were weird. Before dragging the upset policeman towards the museum exit, only stopping once when he noticed a rose, where Kangin had climbed up the rope from, with a note that said "For you Detective. From K." and Donghee glowered at the beautiful rose, before throwing it at Donghae, who had been wearing gloves for some reason that Donghee didn't bother asking, and told him "Check this for fingerprints" and leaving a gaping Donghae staring at his back. He called out "Don't forget the rose too~" while secretly smiling, he loved abusing his power over Donghae, the kid was adorable when annoyed.
