My First Day
So I got a job as you know or at least I think I told LJ that I had a job at Borders. The horrors and the panic attacks! A few days ago, Kalispell experienced its first snow storm of the season and the temps have dropped well considerably. So it's 5:40 AM, I go to leave and our truck dies due to the weather. I freak out. I have to be at work at 6:00 AM.
Long story short ... I made it at 6:30 and had to work until 11:30 AM, which is fine. I don't have any problems with that.
I learned about the cash register, how to take a check and a credit card, then cash. I messed up once on cash, I put the cash tendered at 5.99 but I gave the lady a penny back because she gave me 6.00, however I was told that was okay because I gave her the correct change. I did a few returns. That confused me because of the gift card for the checks and then the cash if you pay with cash.
*breathes*
I signed up two people to the Borders Rewards Program. There was a cutie pie (a man) whose e-mail address was mskitty@*****.com

I hope he was married and straight. *crosses fingers*
I have to go to work on Saturday, perhaps at the cash register. *pulls hair out* I'd love to actually work at the job I was hired for ... the cafe.
On November 11th, we have a mandatory store meeting where we exchange cookies. I'm going to ask Steve about that. Do they mean actual cookies will be exchanged? If so, I need to make some next week. Oh and later that day, I will be working by myself for 2 hrs. How great.
We have an employee discount which is really nice. Yeppah. Yep.
I get paid on the 10th, so whatever I do get on my first check ... I'm going to get some more outfits for work and some more comfy shoes.
