LA, here I come!

Just found out yesterday at work that I get to go to the 4th Annual Critical Race Studies Symposium on Intersectionality at UCLA featuring all sorts of academic and activist all stars that make me totally drool with anticipation and excitement!

I booked my ticket and everything! Also, because so much of the lodging was already sold out, I get to stay at the mega swanky Luxe Hotel in a room like this.

Who wants to come over and jump on the bed with me?!

The program is going to be hella packed, so I don't think there will be much time or energy for me to go out and make trouble (12 hour conference days!), but I've never been to LA before, and I definitely want to see at least a little bit of the city!

Some of the sessions/workshops happening that make my panties moist are:

* APPLIED INTERSECTIONALITY: COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY OF VIOLENCE IN COMMUNITIES OF COLOR
* EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION IN A NON-BINARY WORLD: INTERSECTIONALITY, MASCULINITY, SEGREGATION, AND INSTITUTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
* UNDER-EXAMINED INTERSECTIONALITIES
* TOWARDS AN INTERSECTIONAL ANALYSIS OF HEALTH
* WHAT CONSTITUTES THE "EVIDENCE OF RACISM" IN A "POST-RACIAL SOCIETY"? INTERSECTIONALITY AND THE POLITICS OF RECOGNITION
* PUNISHMENT
* SEXUAL IDENTITIES REPRESENTATION AND VULNERABILITY
