"...the dog is not a turkey. the turkey's the turkey, you turkey."

seeing as how the u.s. government has pretty much shut down until the new year, i've found myself with absolutely nothing to do so far this week. when i say, "absolutely nothing to do," i do, in fact, actually mean it in the very literal sense (so far as it relates to work) which means i have basically been sitting in my office for four days straight, surfing the interwebs, reading a tale of two cities through dailylit.com and pondering various questions, both rich and philosophical and vapid and random, all the while getting paid, however meager the sum may be so i guess there's really nothing to complain about.

1.) how is it that someone can tell you a story for at least the third time, without any recollection that they've had this very conversation with this very person already, especially when it pertains to something as ridiculous as tricking someone into making ice tea in a toilet?

2.) how can it really be the best of times and worst of times?

3.) what was that cartoon with the creepy cat that scared the shit out of me when i was a kid?

4.) should i consider acupuncture, even though i hate needles?

5.) is there a punishment vile enough for theoneste bagosora?

6.) http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1892585/

7.) why are all the planets round?

obviously i don't know the answers to any of these questions, and there are about a thousand others floating around in my subconscious, just waiting to make me crazy. while i hate being bored more than anything in the world, i take a certain comfort in having the time to ask them and will never stop wondering.
