Well, to celebrate the fact that we've been dating for six months and I haven't screwed up,
kr1ct2003 and I went to dinner on Saturday at
Sage American Grill here in New Haven. I have to admit that I was not impressed. We sat by the window overlooking the water in a fairly quiet location, quiet in comparison to the rest of the restaurant. I couldn't even tell you how large this place was. It had to seat a couple hundred easily... along with the noise that everyone made. I was hoping for something a bit more romantic. Our bill came to about $130 for the two of us, which included dessert and some nice wine from a
local vineyard. We both got Shrimp Cocktail for an appetizer, with nice sized shrimp but what seemed like tomato paste for the sauce. Mike ordered scallops and I pork chops for our entrees. Dessert was yummy, with me getting a piece of Butterfnger Crunch Ice Cream "Mood Pie" (it worked) and Mike ordering Chocolate Mousse. The service was fair, even a bit slow, but it was more a case of giving us time to eat.
I think I did good in the present department. I bought Mike a card tell him that I find new things to love about him every day. I also wrote inside it something to the effect that all beautiful things need time to grow. My present was a framed postcard. Sounds cheesy? You'd think. But, the post card was the Eiffel Tower... under construction. My jaw dropped when I saw it.... the world's most romantic icon as it's being built (or growing), just like m'beau and I. The white roses (his favorite) he gave me are making my room smell very nice. Something extremely pretty to wake up to in the morning.
Sunday, I totally worked on my iTunes library. A while back somewhere here on LJ told me about a site that had 1000 popular songs over the last 30 years world wide. Instead of figuring out what I wanted, I just downloaded them all. A large number of them were foreign and some down right scary sounding. I've been meaning to clean it up and really hit into it this weekend. The whole time, my thinking was that I want a bigger iPod. Maybe iPod w/ video, maybe just iPod w/ photos, maybe something totally different (but do I really want to lose access to all my purchased music)? It's a long thought.
About 1 or 2, I decided to get away from the PC and go read for a bit. The next thing I know, it's 7pm and I'm starved! Jocko was still asleep so I got up and ordered some food using
campusfood.com. Over an hour and a half later, my tummy grumbling and I'm still waiting for my pizza and today's lunch, I called the place and they said "Ohhhhh... fax machine is down." I was not a happy camper, and I told the poor old man on the phone as much in not so politically correct terms and then hung up on him. It all worked out, because I like
Modern much better than anywhere else, I was just too damn lazy to actually go get pizza and Modern doesn't deliver. So, I waited two hours and had to go out anyway. Plus I still need to order lunch today.
Up at 6am this morning and Jocko and I went for a nice walk. The weather channel says it's 21 out there, but I think it's much warmer than that it is only going to get better as the day progresses. We're supposed to see somewhere in the upper 40s (low 50s) this coming weekend.
