The forecast called for bright sun and 10% prob of precip, so I went for a "hike" at Montagne d'Argent, toting my shiny camera.

When I crested the pass above Ste-Agathe, it was beautiful: all the hilltops were sprinkled with white! And there were flurries! Then I crested the next pass (which leads to Saint-Faustain) and it was even more beautiful; now there was actual snow on the ground.

But of course, flurries mean cloud cover; indeed, it was about as overcast as you can get short of a major storm. No matter, I continued on and tried to shoot things that didn't need much sun. As the day wore on, there were a few clearings, but for the most part I just took close shots. I have one landscape that I think will work out if I do something fancier to than iPhoto will let me (namely, I want to stretch the contrast at the two ends of the spectrum, squeezing out the middle where there's nothing going on).

The theme of the shoot was things that are still pretty even when it's late fall:I need a better image hosting solution; I converted these to a very small format because I don't get much monthly bandwidth. Anyone have advice about the possibilities? I'm thinking my options are probably flickr, picasa, or host it myself but not on pair.com
