I have questioned people many times, wondering if they ever take a moment from their 'busy' schedules to simply listen to the calls of birds or watch a squirrel munch away at an acorn. I am amazed at the replies I recieve, some much ruder then others. 'I have no time for such nonsense.' or a simple roll of the eyes is often the comeback. I then walk away, sympathsizing the persons ignorance. The simpliest things in nature are the cause of our very life.
Imagine a world where no birds flew, or their calls couldn't enlight the planet with music. If the birds were to simply disapear, would you care? Would you fight to bring back these complex creatures? Imagine every one answered no to those questions. I have one word that sums up our fate if such a thing were to happen; death. Fewer birds means fewer plants, birds being the number one transporter of seeds. Without the oxygen rich exhaling of trees, our fate is dim.
Imagine a world where deer didn't graze upon the fields. I know what many think would be the crisis there. 'Oh no! No deer to hunt! We're going to starve!' That would be none existant on the list of problems. Our food would remain vast, plants still being the healthiest diet. But one creature needs the deer for their meals; coyotes. Fewer deer means fewer coyoties. Fewer coyoties means more creatures such as rabbits and gophers. Both creatures breed at a lightning fast rate, so we'd be unable to control their populations, as many would call it. They'd eat our crops, causing our cattle to die. Now all our food sorces have ceased from this earth, all because we've destroyed one lone species.
Now I could go on and on with these Imagine a world pieces, but why should I? The ones who are willing to listen have been convinced. The ones who have not began to understand at this point, will never. Which are you; the blind person, wandering aimlessly with no point in life? Or are you someone who loves the world you live on, someone who wants to see their children grow up? If I've gotten you to see the light, visit any or all of the following. Donating is not the only thing you could do, fore even I have no money to spare. Just send emails or letters when they ask, doing as they say.
