Too Niner Palms, CA
Guess what!?! I am here! 29 Palms, California. It is hot during the day, and freezing at night. There is nothing at all around here. The people here call it 29 Stumps because it is all barren, plain and empty. I will try to get some pictures of the area on here later so you can see what I mean.
Not all of it is bad here. I only have 2 other guys in my room instead of 80 like before. I get evening and weekend liberties instead of the instructors having control over me from the moment I wake up till the moment I go to bed. The closest thing I can relate it too is a college run by a high school P.E. coach. We have PT 3 times a week (Mon., Wed., & Fri. mornings starting at 0600) and classes Mon.-Fri. staring at 0730 I think. My class hasn't picked up yet, so I am not sure of all those details yet. I will get back to you on that.
I had to get up at 0530 this morning for a firewatch brief which lasted about 10 min. (And I don't even have firewatch until 1400-1600). So, I am awake, it's Saturday, and everything on Mainside is run by nasty civilians, so nothing opens until 0800 (which I didn't find out until I walked about 1.5 miles down to the slow-chowhall [There are 2 chowhalls. One is a fast chowhall which has meals-to-go. They serve Hamburgers, hotdogs, tacos, and things along those lines {fastfood stuff}. The other chow hall is the slow chowhall. They are more of a sit-down place. You can get foods that take longer to prepare; lasagna, Chili Mac, chicken, etc...])
I am going to go now. Things are getting boring.
