My work made the decision to migrate all enterprise mail from Microsoft Outlook to Google Mail Labs and Chrome.
I am having a huge problem because I lived and died by Outlook Calendar and its infinitely configurable popup reminders. Google Calendar, while it has nominal "popup reminders," does NOT make them configurable, does NOT pop them over my window no matter how I try (and I spent an hour yesterday with this *and* I work in IT so I am not computer-illiterate), and sets them to a default snooze of 5 minutes.
I manage my ADD with popup reminders. Period. It is the most functional tool I've found in my entire working career. I need a popup two weeks in advance that it's my boyfriend's birthday, and I need to snooze that reminder for one day, two days, and/or five days. I need popups for projects that I'm working on WHILE I'm working on them to make sure I hit my benchmarks. Period.
I have always hated Google's inexplicably bad calendar application. I hate it on my phone; I hate it for my personal mail. Now I have to use it. What kind of plug-in or extension (keeping in mind that Corporate disabled many of the Google Labs features) can I use to create Outlook-style popups? I've put in Google Mail Calendar Checker, but it's popping up a reminder for every single event on my calendar at the same time and I'm having to scroll down and snooze each one. I need individual window popups for every event, ideally.
