birthday cake
I am so excited. Today, I am going to Cheney with my sister to stay over for a week. I don't have to start training for work until the 18th [ I accepted the job offer to go work for my dad's friends' wife at her at shop in Pike Place.] and it feels like a good time to get out of the house for a while. I haven't been over to my sister's place yet and I am excited to see it. Supposedly, there's not much to do in Cheney, but my sister just got a netflix trial, so we'll be watching a lot of movies.
Yesterday was my mom's birthday. I made her a cake because I usually do for everyone in my family on their birthdays. For my mom's cake, though, I wanted to make it extra special. I made a chestnut spongecake with pastry cream, kiwis and strawberries. All topped with whipped cream. It was seriously so good. There's extra pastry cream and whipped cream, too. If I had time before I go, I would make some cream puffs. Here's some pictures I took with my cell phone. It looks a little wonky on top b/c I had to finish in a hurry.
