Last weekend saw my first attempt at skiing. Tahoe was lovely as usual, the scenic views there all year round are breathtaking.
So, we took a beginners lesson at the ski resort. After we were sufficiently confident in our abilities, we moved on to the beginners slope. A few runs down the slope and we had got the hang of it.
When I decided to go back for one more, there was this guy skiing with such ease , he made us look like a bunch of jokers. Then , this conversation ensued.
Me: You know to turn, dont you?
He: If I didnt know how to turn, I wouldnt be a member of this ski club, would I?
Me: Can you teach me?
He: Sure, I'll be your instructor for the day.
He taught me a couple of things in great detail, confidence oozing out of his every sentence. If you heard him talk, I wouldnt blame you if you mistook him for a winter olympics medallist.
Amused at this conversation, two others stopped by. They asked him for some tips too. He turned to me and said with authority, " I told you how to do it, why dont you teach them now !"
When you hear that from a 9 year old, not only is it surprising, it is adorable .
These children these days, I tell you......
