Hello Darkness My Old Friend

Things I've Learned In College...

Thursday is the new Friday.
Naps are good.
The girls who everyone thought were "popular" and "attractive" in high school are just as bitchy and a lot less attractive.
Student government isn't that important. Nobody gives a rat's ass if you're the President of something here.
Administrators skip work just as much as students skip school. They have great excuses too, like "My dog was sick".
No one cares if you don't go to class.
Escalators that don't work are a huge inconvenience.
The people next door were really just moving furniture around.
The value of the scientific method.
Small classes are a blessing. And good professors are even better.
Keys are extremely important.
Don't EVER forget your ID card. You'll piss the security people off.
Laundry is expensive.
Letters in your mailbox are really exciting!

Now for the sentimental stuff:

You can't make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
No matter how much I care, people just don't care back.
It takes years to build up trust, and just seconds to destroy it.
It's not what you have in your life, but who you have that counts.
There are people who love you dearly but just don't know how to show it.
You run out of money really quickly, and then reality sets in.
We are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
You can keep going long after you think you can't.
I have the right to be angry, but it doesn't give me the right to be mean.
True friendships continue to grow even over long distances. And some friendships will be stronger than ever.
Maturity has more to do with experiences you've had and what you learn from them, not how many candles are you have on your birthday cake.
Families aren't biological. People who you aren't related to can still love you and take care of you, just like any other family.
No matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you have to forgive them for it.
We are responsible for who we become.
Just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't, it doesn't mean they do.
Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something completely different.
Your new friends don't even hold a candle to those your group back home.. (hint, hint.. I love you guys!)
