best week ever

I must say, as fantastically wonderful as my group of new friends are, there really is nothing like an old friend. I've had so much fun the past couple of days being with these people who have shaped my life since 3rd grade, or before. Just being with these people who love you more than anything, and who know you better than anyone else in the world, is amazing. These are the friendships where we can just sit in silence and have it not be awkward. The ones where you can just look at them and suddenly they know everything you're thinking, feeling, and know just what to do for you. New Year's Eve was great. The "girls" (roughly Veronica, Hayley, Kara, Nicole, Cheryl, Katryna, and Marisa) came over around 7 and we all got ready for our evening while Cappy and Joel played pool with two unidentified boys. We eventually left my house and made it to our friend Scott's where we stayed watching Kara do "Power Hour" all by herself and the Santa Rosa Boys "beer bong" boxed wine. We migrated the entire party over to another friend's house around 11:40, just in time for all of us to get impromptu new year's kisses, or to have your new year's kiss be a bottle of champagne poured down your throat. I was somewhere in between the two. Hayley, Britt, Kara, Cappy, Tom and I all ended up at Kara's to sleep around 2. We were all in a lot earlier than expected, but it was the perfect amount of time to be out.
Yesterday I went over to Amanda Clem's (BUDDY!!! I miss you already and I found the pictures!!! I will send them to you for real this time!) for her "going away" afternoon of food, fun, Mrs.Byrne-and-Madame Brewer-Napoleon Dynamite-type randomness. It was great to be around her before she left. I love her. But it was also extremely good to see Jessie, Christine, and Nani. After we left Amanda's, Hayley, Brittany, and I went over to Katie's house and then off to dinner in Healdsburg. It was Katie's last night and we all wanted to eat at her restaurant of choice. We all had a very good meal and then it was time to venture back over to Kara's for a couple of games of pool, and then about 12 people piling on her couches so we could watch Anchorman. It was a great night.
Now it's time for my Sunday ritual of wireless internet in bed, that is until Kara calls and wants to hang out. I love you all, and to those of you whom I haven't seen in the past couple of days, I'm sorry. But you will be here next week and the week after, when these people won't. I needed this for me. I needed them. They complete all that I am. But I do still love you. Don't forget that.

much love,

~ b
