I'm back from London and glad to be home, albeit for only a week. I had a wonderful time. My aunt, uncle and cousins are a lot of fun and, of course, London is an incredible place. It's so busy and diverse and beautiful and old - just saturated with everything from everywhere in the world. There is so much to do and see. I wish I had more time there, by myself or with friends or at least without younger siblings. However, with siblings and parents and cousins we managed to see Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, St.Paul's cathedral, the science museum, Museum of Natural History, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Madame Tussaud's, a bit of the National Gallery and Hampton Court. We had picnics in Hyde Park and St.James's Park, rode on the London Eye, had high tea at the Ritz, hung out in Covent Garden, ate Fish & Chips, ate a TON of Indian Food, Lebanese Food, Greek, Italian, Morroccan food...basically, ate a lot of food. We saw Picaddily Circus, Trafalgar Square, all of the bridges, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, had dinner in Chelsea and shopped in Wimbledon.
We used the Underground and buses and trains...until Thursday when we had a bit of scare with those failed bombings and decided it was best to avoid the Underground. Because of what happened Thursday, Mom and Dad and I had to cut short our trip to the National Gallery and Mom, Suman and I didn't go shopping in Central London on Friday. On Sunday, however, we got a chance to go to Harrod's and a lot of the shops in Piccadilly, and, because they're all closed on Sunday, walked past the fabulous stores (Maxmara, Cavalli, Missoni, Prada) on Bond Street. HOWEVER, I did get a chance to quickly look through Matthew Williamson's store. His clothes are just divine and, of course, ridiculously expensive. I prefer to stick to the likes of H&M....
I never saw the Queen - she stood me up at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace. BUT I did see an Oompa Loompa! We walked by the premier of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I sooo wanted to stay and wait for Johnny Depp, but the boys wouldn't have it....
I took many, many pictures and will hopefully have them printed soon for all to see.
Hope everyone has had a good few days - I miss you and can't wait to see you!

Love,
Bhanu
