I seem to have quite the knack for finding the most useful of tools during the oddest of hours - though, my doubts in current one’s abilities remain rather high. His powers, while undoubtedly interesting, as least as far as being.. unique, I suppose, it is in his character that I find the most trouble. The occupants within our village seek one thing, and one alone, power. But this child? I cannot pinpoint his motivations. To stay alive, most assuredly, but after that?
I cannot express what bothers me so about him simply because I cannot find the words for it - just something rubs me the wrong way so to speak.
He is too emotional. Too attached the doctor he slew. Too much like a child.
Ten years my junior, or something close to it, seeing as I have yet to find any kind of birth records on him (at least as far as my chakra cards and limited research go), so age and parentage are as good a guess as anyone’s.
Ah, I digress..
Anyway, his emotional behavior is completely out of line for someone of age and occupation, and it bothers me to no end. Just how did he survive all this time? Had Yojireru-sensei really devoted that much time to him? Or is the boy simply needy?
I don’t like the risks that taking him to Konoha would entail, but given the strength of his abilities, I would almost be a fool to go without him. Eight years it has been since I last stepped foot within that village - long enough for people to forget me perhaps? Not long enough for me to not want to take precautions…
Speaking of precautions, how odd is it that I refer to the Leaf almost nostalgically and within the next week I am assigned to there? There are times when I really do wonder whether or not Orochimaru can read minds. (Or perhaps the mindless drivel that I spout here.. it’s not as though I can hide it with lock and key, stashed beneath a pillow like some gushing prepubescent teen.)
Regardless, I have wasted far too much time already - I have a few more things to prepare. Hopefully everyone will be ready to move within the next couple of hours….
