I finally had a good birthday!
Over the past few years, my birthday was usually ruined by something weird. On my eighteenth birthday, I had to move into another dorm in the Louisiana heat. The next year, my birthday had fallen during a time where we had two hurricanes back to back so school was out. My friends had planned me a party at this place ran by a group at college but it was closed. My twenty-first was on a Sunday in a city with blue laws on that day. My twenty-seconded was ruined by Hurricane Rita. And last year, my roommate collapsed his lung so I went to see him in the hospital.
So this year my expectations were very low. I was off work so I just hung out at Barnes and Noble and brought some books. I also went to get ice cream. Later on that night, I went out to eat with my roommates to this small Meditarrean place called Atcha's Bakery. They have the best falefel on planet Earth. Ronald brought us some wine and we just hung out. Since I am at work today and have to go to Macy's this evening, I did not want to party to hard. Plus, your twenty-fourth birthday is not exactly some big milestone year. Next year, I am going to make up for the moving and the hurricanes. This is assuming I don't have move during a hurricane.
