Last night was awesome. Nathen sped at like 90 so he made great time. Instead of him getting here at 5 to 5:30 which changed other plans he got her around 4:30 and we headed down to the game.

When we got there they should have been letting people in but they wernt so people were getting roudy at the gate. The plan was for me to go in with my ID, get stamped so I could leave and then give the ID to Nathen so he could get in, get stamped, then give it to Brad so he could get in. Since we got there so early (and for some reason my phone went to shit so I couldnt really get calls or messages) I figured I would try it out with Nathen and then wait for the other party to get there and we would have it perfected. Well, instead of taking tickets at the gate they took them at individual gates which complicated things. I got in and then went up to an event staff lady and told her I needed to leave to wait for a friend and could I get back in just by showing my ticket (they were not stamping hands). She hands me this orange piece of paper that is a re-entry ticket. She said I need that orange re-entry ticket, my ticket stub, and since I had a student ticket I also needed my ID. Shit! I worked on Nathen enough to try going in front of me and passing my ID behind him to me so I could get in next. Well, the guy saw and was like "Wait a minute!" but Nathen did the right thing and went into the middle of the crowd. The guy was like "No, you cannot use his ID" and I put the ID next to my face and said "Look at the picture, its my ID" and then he saw the orange re-entry ticket and let me in. Either he was being nice or the lady that told me I needed the ID lied to me.

We got seated and updated Lynn on the situation. About 10 minutes later a girl sat down in front of us (later to be known as a K-Stater) and said she got in without an ID, they were not checking IDs anymore because so many people were trying to trick them. I was going to call Lynn and inform her of this news but I knew she couldnt answer because I saw the band walking down the hill.

The game itself was probably the best college game I have ever seen. The student section was the most excited I had ever seen. Chants like "Fuck K-State" and "Purple is for pussies" were popular and quite funny. People actually did the traditions in what I would think was record numbers and it helped having the Alumni band on the left and the KU band on the right.

The 4th quarter was by far the most exciting. It was just so...wow! With 4 seconds left students started climbing the fence on the west side of the stadium to take down the goal posts.

The south post with all the students surrounding it (poor quality)
Then the student section let out. They still had 4 seconds of play time and I was really suprised they didnt call something on us. The north goal post came down first and made its way to Potter Lake. Nathen wanted to see it so we walked down and while I was taking him to Potter Lake the south goal post came by so we followed it. He got a few pictures with his phone (I have only received 2 of them so far) and I will post them but they are not that good.

Came back to the room and decided since Nathen had not eaten lunch or dinner and I had not eaten dinner that we should eat something. E's was closed and we decided to go to Steak and Shake since I knew it was open for 24 hours. They were packed so we went to IHOP instead. We got seated next to this older couple that was quite friendly and talked to us alot. He asked if we helped take the posts down and we said no and he thought that was the right thing to do. Then he asked Nathen how the grades were (Nathen is going into the Air Force - no grades) and Nathen told him that he didnt go to school here but I did. He asked how my grades were and I said they were good. He talked about when his kids went here if they got a D in any class that equaled a DUI and the car came home. He asked where home was and I told him. He said he was from Kingman and originally from Pretty Prairie. They thought they knew someone in Andover but I never heard of them.

We played "guess the waitress's age" game and when the food got there Nathen asked. I thought she looked about 26 and he thought barely 21. She was 20, but has a sister that is 25 and people think they are twins.

I ate the "all you can eat popcorn shrimp" and Nathen had breakfast stuff. It was good. Got back and watched Bigger and Blacker, a Chris Rock comedy show on Comedy Central that was uncensored so that was nice. Went to bed around 1:30 or so.

Got up today around 9:30 (I normally at least wake up at 7 when my alarm goes off but I dont remember it going off or me turning it off). Went to E's with Nathen for breakfast and used one of my guest passes, hell, when else am I going to use them because not many people are going to see me (just knowing who some of my friends are). We ate and he left.

It was a great way to start off the weekend. Now I am just a little hoarse and still have math studying and homework, POLS reading and questions, history reading, and finish up final draft of my English research paper for Tuesday. My phone is still screwed up and I will have to take it to Cingular because its just fucked up.

More later depending on how things go.
