So, I was listening to The Life on the way home and I forgot how much I liked the music. I really wished I had the chance to see the show on stage. Maybe, someday, it will come to LA. But, I'd like to share with you several lines. The first, I find amusing. The second, because I think it's a very power set of statements about accepting people's differences and allowing for individual autonomy both in terms of sex and individual freedoms. (Yes, I know the first quote contradicts the second, but at the same time they hit on the same point -- basically, stop preaching at me.)
"Uh-oh, here come the Jesus people. It's only Tuesday. What they got to be praying for on a Tuesday. The people are fanatics, I swear." The Life "You Can't Go To Heaven"
"Maybe I'm a sinner. But, whose going to cast the first stone. It's my body and my body is nobody's business but my own. What if I'm a sinner, I ain't exactly alone. It's my body and my body is nobody's business but my own. ... Maybe you don't like it, but that don't mean nothing because, my body is my business, my business not yours." The Life "My Body."
"I know what I'm doing. I know who I am. If you got a problem, I don't give a damn." The Life "My Body."
"It's my body not your body. My body is my business. My business is my business -- Nobody's business, but my own." The Life "My Body."
Enjoy.
