...because knowledge is power...

I LOVE my job...especially when my director is not at work. I had so much fun today, but I am exhausted and I smell like vinegar.

So today we had our first Ro-Sham-Bo tournament, and it was pretty cool. The kids had fun. I have this wrestling belt, and I made it into a Ro-Sham-Bo belt. Marcos ended up winning, so he got the belt until he went home...I took a picture with him and the belt and I'm going to start a summer Ro-Sham-Bo championship...a tournament each week or every other week.

THEN...I did "Science Fun"

I didn't tell any of the kids what it was about. So we went out to the field and I did the Diet Coke & Mentos experiment, that shit is awesome! You take a 2 liter of Diet Coke and a pack of mentos. We tried it a few ways, first we taped a tube to the 2 liter, and dropped the mentos in, and it basically reacts and shoots in the air, but with the tube on it, it went kind of funny. So then we tried it w/o the tube, and it shot up pretty high. We also were going to try and stick the mentos in, put the cap on, and see what would happen, instead we put the mentos in, tried to put the cap on and I got diet coke ALL over myself.

Then we did Vinegar and Baking Powder, it reacts in a weird way, and if you put it in a controlled environment *such as pringles tubes, or any tube with a lid* it tries to blow the lid off. We figure out that you have to put the baking powder in the bottom of the tube, add the vinegar and quickly put the lid on and flip it upside down. At the end, all the kids were trying different things, and we had a small amount of baking powder left in the tub, so we added vinegar to it, and waited, and waited, so one of my kids picked it up and you could see the lid bubbling, then the lid shot across the yard. It was really cool.

I had a lot of fun, and I didn't have to worry about my director bein a dick and constantly wondering what I was doing, and bein nosey and all up in my business. It was cool, I'm just tired, and lookin forward to my 3-day weekend. I HAVE to do laundry, seeing as how both of my staff shirts smell like vinegar.

I'm off to find dinner of some sort, maybe rent a movie, and laundry is for tomorrow, as well as going to the college that I start at on Monday to sign some papers and buy my text book.

Until next time.
