At an emergency Nordic Council meeting overnight, the governments of Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland have decided to split the countries up into smaller units

In other news, Scotland and Wales gain instant independence, with the Highlands, Shetland and Orkney reasserting their traditional hostility to Holyrood, and Caernarfon and Caerdydd splitting their principality between them.

Man starts a bidding war for its vote, but the most unexpected consequence happens when the Channel Island of Herm is bought for €20,000,000 by RTE. In a statement, an RTE spokeswoman says that by judicious voting, they should ensure that they never win again, without the humiliation of having to submit genuine turkeys to the contest.

The Nordic countries are just pissed because the Balkans are even more blatant about the neighbourly voting than they are..

Well, back in the days of "sing in $NationalLanguage", it was semi-understandable, as Swedes would, in general, understand the Swedish, Norwegian and English (UK/Ireland) contribution, maybe the Danish, have a nagging feeling that hte Icelandic was understandable and go "Huh?" at the Finnish. Norway would be somewhat similar, with higher chance understanding the Danish. I suppose bfrb knows how likely Icelanders are to understand Norwegian, Danish and Swedish.
