Guide camp Work Weekend
Well the weather was poo but we still had a productive and fun weekend.
It snowed, for proof here's some piccies
Due to the bad weather we didn't get the roof done or the outside of the buildings painted, we also didn't get the shutters or window frames of the kitchen hut done however we did get done.
It wasn't the best camping experience every, of course I've already mentioned the snow, but also we didn't have running water, when they turned the water on for our site the top site (which had brownies staying in the brownie hut) lost all water, seems theres a huge leak somewhere between them and us, so all water had to be got from a building at the other end of the field, also due to the wet the track to the site was VERY muddy so muddy even my car gave up and skidded on it and it's got all wheel drive and winter driving traction stuff, however we did get all vehicles off site without too much issue.
Even with all those issues I actually quite enjoyed the weekend, it was fun hanging out with friends and we got lots done, we'd have got more done if we had good weather as we would not have had to juggle things about as much for painting and more people could have painted at the same time but we will be going back in a few weeks to do the jobs that are left.
So what weekends in April could you make to come help? We are ordering in better weather and the water should be fixed by then. Please please come if you can as we'd like to get this all finished on the next trip. it's mostly just lots of painting and a small amount of woodwork and some roofing and maybe a little pruning etc.
There is a camp on the site at the end of April and the Brownies are camping there in May so we'd like it done for them.

- 5 shutters made for Luckhurts and preserved and one coat of paint on them.
- purlongs for the roof preserved
- facing boards for the roof preserved
- kitchen cleaned for start of camping season
- campfire circle fixed with big new logs for the girls to sit on.
- new rope in the flag pole
- the old bus shelter dismantled
- the new shed put in place and preserved
- new door made and hung for leaders old wash room (which is now the milk crate storage room)
- set concrete gone.
