Status Report
I just got back from visiting Heather and Sammy at the beach, and I am sooo burnt.
Every other day this week I spent painting my house (the outside) all day and then taking a shower and going to Vacation Bible School at night. They had an adult class and I had a lot of fun, especially in crafts! oh, and I probably learned something, too.
Other than that, the most exciting thing I've done this summer was Discovery!, a week-long bus trip with all of the 400 freshman teaching fellows from across the state. We drove everywhere in North Carolina. really. My favorite places were Tyrrell County, which has 4,000 people in the whole county and 3 schools (elementary, middle, and high school) and with 200 students at each, and Scotland County High School. It's a lot like South View, but not. I think I could teach there, except that it's in Laurenburg, which is just too country for me (and it's where my dad is from originally.)
The worst part of the trip was when, on the last day, I was going through my pictures on my digital camera (i had like 150 of them from the week) and I managed to delete ALL of them. I wanted to cry. The best part was that we got a Bible study going and kept it going every single night, a few nights with about 30 people. Inspiring. And I made lots of new friends!
I still haven't heard from Ashley, I hope everything is going ok for her.
My parents are out of town until tomorrow, so I'm staying at Steven's tonight. yay!
