We were supposed to pick up a pair of goats on Sunday, but Lori's knee went out and she couldn't walk. This has happened periodically several times over the past two years. Our doctor and orthopedist kept saying that they couldn't find any problem. At one point we thought it was Lyme disease. She got treated for that and things were better for a while. We changed medical plans in January, partly over the frustration we were having with doctors who couldn't figure out what was wrong. So yesterday, Lori went to a new orthopedist. He took one look at her MRI (which was 2 years old at this point) and said her ACL was shot, her PCL was partially torn, and the meniscus (sp?) ligament was now caught in the joint causing the current pain. All of this will require a couple of surgeries to fix. Not the best diagnosis, but at least we finally have a potential solution. Of course the gross incompetence of our previous doctors in missing this rather obvious problem is infuriating to say the least. We filed a complaint against our previous orthopedist's license earlier, but I want to see this guy kicked out of medicine all together at this point. We have a lawyer in the family who specializes in malpractice cases so we'll see what he recommends.
