The sunrise begins as a soft glow on the horizon
Gently igniting the purple-white clouds floating in the blue-gray sky
The treeline looks as if it's ablaze
With fluffy white plumes rising from their leafy tops
And the sun begins to steadily creep up above their boughs
The sun passes the trees and it's like the whole world is blinking into life
I could wake up to its golden glow every day
And watch it pour over your skin
Like liquid morning, sweet like honey
Warming the world around us as time stands still
I'll kiss you until you wake up and open your eyes
To the sun rising over both of us like a blessing
Our hearts lit up by the first solar flares of the day
(By your lips on mine)
While the skies burn above us
It doesn't matter if the sunrise is blocked by clouds or rain
Because waking up to you
Puts that sunrise to shame
