NOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!!!!111!!123ONEONEHUNDREDTWELVE I finally caught up with the Bleach anime - as I had to realize to my abysmal regret when I intended to search for my daily crack on Dailymotion. Episode 132 is the most recent one for now, next episode is aired on july 11th. In four days, if my fingers are right. Which doesn't mean I will be able to watch Bleach 133 the same day, since last time I checked, I had no japanese tv channels on my own tv and I have no clue how fast subbers and uploaders are working.
I hope they're fast, I'm leaving for France again next friday and won't have internet access till the 20th.^^;
On the other hand... I'm glad I have to pause for a few days after episode 132 (Hitsugaya and Karin's football match), it was one of my very favorite episodes for now. Of course it's a filler, the story doesn't contribute a lot to the main story, but it made me love Toushirou Captain Hitsugaya and Karin even more than before. Sweet, but not in the usual sugar-scented romance type, funny like hell, but not in the annoying Don Kannonji way. Sorry to the possible Don Kannonji fans here.;) Are there any Don Kannonji fans here anyway? I want to know a lot more about Hitsugaya for real now and whether he is still a real shinigami child or an adult who's just way to small for his mental age.
And sadly, I'd love to have a short rant about Rangiku and the general fact that the shinigami women don't seem to be allowed to beat the most dangerous adversaries without any help, Soi Fong seems to be the only exception for now (Bount arc). Dangerous hollows are threatening the town? Be sure that Rangiku may only kill a few less dangerous of them until Hitsugaya or Ikkaku help her when the more dangerous ones are coming. She killed a dangerous hollow with her own sword? Not without Hitsugaya's massive help. Got some kiddies to babysit? Guess who's the babysitter when the other shinigami are out to kick asses.
Rrraaah.
Not that babysitting isn't important, but that's so cliché that the woman is taking care for the children at home while the men are out for fighting. Same for most other women. Again, Soi Fong and probably Yoruichi seem to be exceptions, but the other women?
Inoue? Uh uh, not a fighter, even if she wants to, she's a healer and protector.
Rukia? Can be a serious kick ass, but when do we actually see her fighting - and win? She kicks asses in the first episode, but not for long before she gets seriously beaten up. In the flashbacks, but she was rather a young recruit who had to be protected by her captain and his lieutenant. She kills an arrancar (in an admittedly beautiful way), but the fight was fast done, which made it seem like it was an easy one, while every other fight (Ikkaku, Hitsugaya, Ichigo...) lasted a lot longer and showed just how hard the other shinigami had to fight.
The other female shinigami? Either they're healers, or we never see them fight, or when they actually fight, they are represented as emotional and irrational like Hinamori.
Again: Rrraaah.
Not that I don't think women can be healers or weak, I don't think that there should be a politically correct amount of real kick-ass women who are stronger than men, and even if I did, Yoruichi and Soi Fong seem to be doing the job rather well. I'm just annoyed by the great opportunity to see Rangiku or Rukia finally kick asses, I have been waiting for ages for that, but then Ikkaku or Hitsugaya had to ruin all my hopes.~__~ Not that I consider Rangiku, Inoue or Rukia as typical damsels in distress, thank god for that. But still, they are both capable shinigami and should be honored like that instead of showing off Ikkaku's thousandth mad fight.>__>
Speaking of Bleach and the end of anime episodes, what about the manga? Do you know the german translation? I've seen it's from Tokyopop, and though I don't have any Tokyopop manga yet, I've heard that the translations and layouts suck all too often?^^;
Or what about the french version? Recommendable... or rather not? Not that I'd have the money anyway, I just started to buy 20th Centuries Boys after all, but I don't like to read manga online that much. I love to hold them in my hands, smell the paper and the ink, read them on my bed, sort them in my shelf with the other manga... *sigh*
