You knew it was coming.

Theme Spotlight: Powerpuff Girls and Powerpuff Girls Z!

Yes, that's right! How could we not include them? And yes, we're including both, even if it involves a little bit of theme mixing. And how are we doing that?

History: Far away in the American City of Townsville, Professor "Utonium" Kitazawa lived with his son, Ken Kitazawa, while his wife did research in space. The brilliant scientist performed an experiment to create the perfect little girls to join his family, seeing how lonely his gifted but socially inept son was. That experiment involved sugar, spice, everything nice, and an accidental application of the powerful CHEMICAL X.

Thus, the Powerpuff Girls were born! The power of Chemical X gave life to three superpowered girls, gifted with immense strength and flight power, and they were dubbed Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. And they helped fight crime! For a little while.

But even if things were a bit strange in Townsville, reports started coming in of even stranger and more dangerous happenings increasing across the world in Tokyo. Utonium decided he had to investigate rumors of 'magic' for the sake of SCIENCE! And as he traveled to THE CITY OF TOKYO, his son and three superpowered daughters traveled with him. Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup were enrolled into Mahora Kindergarten, which was largely equipped to deal with their 'unique' natures, and all seemed well.

Until the Chemical Z experiment.

Altered from the formula of Chemical X, the less powerful but easier to reproduce Chemical Z was designed to chemically alter anything it was applied to. Ken, brilliant but often lacking in judgment, decided to test Chemical Z when the lab was hit by a monster attack sent by Dark Fall. It...did not work as planned, dispersing into the atmosphere and creating strage black and white energy rays which transformed anything they touched.

Three ordinary schoolgirls were struck by those Chemical Z rays: Momoko Akatsutsumi, Miyako Gotokuji and Kaoru Matsubara. Thanks to the power of Chemical Z, the girls gained the ability to transform into three magical girls whose power was derived from mutation rather than pure magic. Inspired by the three adorable little girls who had been spotted from time to time doing good deeds, they took on the names Hyper Blossom, Rolling Bubbles and Powered Buttercup respectively.

We're sure they'll get along just fine.

As for Mojo Jojo, the monkey granted hyper-intelligence by Chemical X, he wasn't about to let his rivals get away. Nor were a lot of other menaces from Townsville. And the Chemical Z accident has created a lot of new menaces, too...

Chemical X: Chemical X is a very rare, powerful formula developed by Professor Utonium. It is extremely dangerous and volatile. Although uses of Chemical X can grant temporary superpowers, its effects are unpredictable. It is very hard to acquire samples of Chemical X. Some Magic Association members claim that Chemical X may have an unintended spark of magic in it, granting its scientifically odd properties, but Professor Utonium fiercely denies this and frankly finds the idea insulting.

Chemical Z: Chemical Z is much easier to reproduce, and Utonium Labs usually has some samples on hand. Like Chemical X, it has unpredictable effects, but these effects can (sometimes) be reduced with the application of the Chemical Z Particle Ray.

Mojo Jojo: He is the version from Powerpuff Girls, not Z. As in he is modeled after the American version! He is not the Z version, but the version from Powerpuff Girls, in which he would describe himself as the character he is, MOJO JOJO! Who was not altered by Chemical Z but by Chemical X, a lab monkey who was rejected and mutated beyond all recognition into he, himself, who is MOJO JOJO! Whose origins are based on the American version of he, Mojo JOJO!

Him: Him is an ancient evil, an immortal being who dwells beneath the center of the Earth. He last emerged in full centuries ago, defeated only by the power of the Goodenough Girls X and sealed away. The efforts of the Magic Association have kept him from emerging from Hell and conquering Earth himself for decades, but ever since Clow Reed weakened the walls between worlds, his power has been growing and he has been able to influence the world above, even making temporary appearances from time to time. He is extremely powerful and cunning, preferring to work through trickery and deceit until such time as he can unleash his true power. He can produce a kind of black mist which can detect the wishes and desires of others and use it to corrupt, mutate or alter them to Him's wishes. Him has fabulous high heels.

Due to his power level, Him is unappable.

Other Villians: We'll be honest here, we're largely leaving which versions of the Powerpuff Girl villain cast people want. Just don't contradict what's happened before. Some, like the Gangreen Gang, are basically the same; others, like Princess Morbucks and Sedusa, are quite different. When in doubt, check will staff.

The Goodenough Girls X: During the Fallen Age, during the feudal era, Him emerged from his prison to terrorize Edo, nearly destroying the city. Three young women, Momo, Omiya and Okou, were blessed by a precursor of Chemical Z and changed into three warrior maidens calling themselves the Goodenough Girls X. Due to their efforts, Him was resealed, his power drained, and trapped in Hell for what they hoped would be eternity. Magic Association holds records of their famous battle. Unfortunately, many years have passed, and Him has had plenty of time to recharge.

A note on power levels: In the show, the Powerpuff Girls were basically literally as strong as the show needed them to be, with whatever powers were convenient. That, well, does not fly on a MUCK! They'll be relatively strong, but not nearly as game-breaking as they were in the show. This is a game, not an action cartoon. Assume that the Powerpuff Girls are speedy, very strong, but not overpowering.
