Theme Mini-Spotlight: Thief Double Feature!

Jun 09, 2011 23:02

It's a double-header this time! These are two themes with a lot of similarities, probably because the second one was heavily influenced by the first. What are they? They are THIEVES. But heroic thieves! Who fight evil! Through thievery! On behalf of God! (No, really.)

Like Robin Hood, with more ribbons and Christian iconography! )

As opposed to the young male ones?

Oops! I think I was about to say something about a young, female Lupin to Asuka's Zenigata, but changed my mind at the last second. And that happened.

Could have been worse.

Having recently re-acquainted myself with Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and discovering it still brings me to tears even though I already know everything about how it goes, I don't think there's any way I can not app her, now. That's a pretty solid mark of a series that left a profound impression ( ... )

That's left open to the apper, yes, especially in the case of personality traits. Use what you would like!

For example, there is A Certain Twist involving Finn which as I understand it is handled differently in the anime? If so, how that twist goes would be up to the cast, particularly whoever apped Finn Fish.

Arina Tanemura is awesome.

Well, in fairness, from what I recall, Jeanne/Maron was an experiment in reincarnation and this was something that God otherwise did not do, right? (Though I also understand that in the manga, Jeanne was in turn the reincarnation of FREAKIN' EVE, and then there are other reincarnated enemies, and I don't even know. BTW I am totally going to read the manga, thank you for the link <3)
