Today we'll post a little more info about some of the locations in Battle Fantasia's universe. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and some places (like Cephiro) are not mentioned because we'll be talking about them more extensively in other theme posts. Perhaps they'll give you some character ideas.

Tokyo: Capital of Japan, seat of the Japanese government and the Imperial Palace. Tokyo is divided into 23 special wards of Tokyo, each of which is governed like a city, as well as 39 municipalities. Tokyo prefecture is one of the world’s most populous metropolitan areas with more than 35 million people, and is a major center of the world’s economy.
Very recently, Tokyo has been experiencing a massive upswing in magical activity, something which has largely passed unnoticed by the government or general populace due to Recognition Inhibition. The Magic Association of Tokyo has been very busy attempting to keep track of newly awakened mages, many of whom slip under the radar. It is for this reason that Tokyo has also been a focal point of infiltration attempts by otherworldly and alien invaders.
OOC Notes: The vast majority of the activity on Battle Fantasia will be taking place within Tokyo. Characters are welcome to be from elsewhere, but it is highly suggested they at least currently reside within the metropolis. We also realize that realistically, it would be difficult to travel across the city by train within an hour, but for the purposes of RP we’d suggest handwaving travel time issues outside of egregious cases.
Elysium: Located far beneath the surface of the Earth, Elysium is the only remaining stronghold of the old Earth Kingdom. Magic scholars disagree on the very existence of Elysium, as even the most powerful mages have been unable to locate or access it, nor have any Elysian artifacts been recovered. Some believe it may be linked to the legends of lost civilizations such as Atlantis or Mu.
In the ancient past, Elysium was an underground paradise of rolling green hills and gardens, the heart of the Earth Kingdom. It slowly began to fall into disrepair after Serenity’s fall, and has been in a quiet decline ever since. It is now largely uninhabited except for a shrine surrounded by a garden, supervised by a few immortal survivors. The prince and princess of Elysium, former servants of Prince Endymion, emerged to the surface world centuries ago, and have not been heard from since. More recently, the high priest of the shrine, Helios, vanished, and the shrine has slowly become overrun with toxic black roses. The remaining priestesses have sealed themselves inside Elysium and used their power to further seclude the lost kingdom from the world above, in a last-ditch attempt to save the Heart of Earth until the Earth Prince awakens.
Tokyo Tower: Built in 1958, Tokyo Tower is the second tallest man-made structure in Japan. Located in Shiba Park, the radio tower stands at 332.5 meters (1,091 feet) and is a major tourist attraction. Class trips to Tokyo Tower are common. Visitors can enjoy shops at the foot of the tower, and take elevators up to the observatories for a fantastic view.
As it happens, Tokyo Tower also serves as a focal point for otherworldly powers and magic.Because of its unique properties and location, it can serve as a target for powerful magic spells. Magically-inclined visitors to Tokyo Tower are advised to show caution.
Fairy Worlds: The “Fairy Worlds” are a catch-all term for dimensions located in close proximity to our own. Many of them are aware of our world on some level, and may refer to Earth using different terms. (For instance, in the Garden of Light, Earth is known as the Garden of Rainbows.) Magic works freely in these worlds, which often include non-human inhabitants.
The Fairy Worlds often feel like fairy tales to strangers, bright and colorful locations which nonetheless face terrible danger from otherworldly elements. Many of the Worlds center around a “theme.” Major Land bases its entire culture on music, and its inhabitants include living instruments and catlike Song Fairies. The Kingdom of Sweets is populated almost entirely by animals, and their architecture is built out of candies and desserts.
In times of great distress, Fairy Worlds may reach out to other worlds-including our own-in order to seek out the legendary warriors known as Pretty Cures.
Queen Earth: The Earth of a parallel dimension, which has recently been devastated by the Black Vaccine unleashed by the organization Dark Joker. Its plant and animal life has nearly died off, and its cities lie in ruins, with few survivors. The queen has been using the last of her strength to keep the world alive while her servant Kanon searches for a savior who can someday heal Queen Earth. A few other refugees may have survived to flee elsewhere. TSAB files classify Queen Earth as a world undergoing an extinction-level event.
Autozam: A futuristic, technologically advanced nation of a parallel world, one which largely eschews magic, but is willing to utilize magitech. Once steadfast allies of the TSAB, while they remain in contact with TSAB forces, they have recently had to pour their resources into solving their own problems. Autozam’s cities are overpopulated, and its over-reliance on technology has led to a dearth of resources and near ecological collapse. Pollution is rampant, and respiratory illnesses are common. Autozam has the technology to travel between dimensions, but until recently had no access to Earth due to Serenity’s seal. Even the breaking of the seal went practically unnoticed at first, although some wonder if the secret to Autozam’s salvation might lie in Earth-or in another world, Cephiro.
Chizeta: Chizeta is a nation which someone from Earth might compare to 1001 Arabian Nights. It is a small kingdom, although rumor has it its twin princesses are hoping to expand the nation’s power over time. Unlike Autozam, Chizeta has not turned its back on magic. Mages from Chizeta are likely to specialize in illusion magic, spirit summoning, and even dance incantations. Princesses Tata and Tatra can command genies, which are otherwise very rare beings even in Chizeta. Travelers have left Chizeta for other kingdoms and worlds from time to time, even Cephiro, but none have been to Earth in centuries.
Fahren: Fahren is an otherworldly nation which greatly resembles ancient China. It is ruled by the child empress Aska, an arrogant and spoiled youth who is nonetheless beloved by her people and very loyal to them. The people of Fahren are often fiercely patriotic and loyal to their homeland. Warriors and mages may be trained in martial arts, sword arts, sword magic or other forms of sorcery.
OOC Notes: OCs from Autozam, Chizeta and Fahren are appable, but should have a reason for traveling to Earth, and should understand that travel back to their world will be very difficult. In general, characters from other worlds will spend most of their time in Tokyo.
Gold Crown: A German city which is the location of the Gold Crown Academy of Fine Arts. It doesn’t exist.
Ringo: Also known as the Pig Planet, Ringo is an apple-shaped planet from another part of the galaxy. The sentient, intelligent inhabitants of Ringo are all pigs, many of them smaller than Earth pigs and brightly colored. They are capable of traveling to other planets by UFO. Ringo is a land of plenty, and any visitor will find plenty to eat-but just don’t ask for bacon.
OOC Notes: You heard me.
