ORGANIZATION: Dark Fall!

And now that we're a little closer to their situation in the present, it's time for the last Organization: Dark Fall.

Dark Fall is a name that strikes fear into the heart of any dweller of the mystic realms. Originally, many of the kings of darkness that now constitute Dark Fall were conjured by the Belkans, as tools and weapons to use in their long war of conquest - demonic forces like the Dusk King, Akudaikaan, Pharaoh 90 and similar demonfolk of great status and power, sicced upon the worlds to bring them to their knees. Some say their origins are far greater yet; these speculate that Dark Fall's demon kings may first have walked the world at the end of the Silver Millenium, brought forth by Queen Beryl herself to bring ruin to humanity's greatest age.

Either way, it is known that in the modern age, the dark kings' leashes were collectively held by allies to the Saint Kings. The Belkans were, in the end, defeated, and their attack dogs in Dark Fall scattered into the woodwork of the world for the better part of a century. But then, the siren's song of Earth's great wells of magic called to them. /They/ could rule. /They/ could destroy and tear out the heart of any world they wanted, if only they could drink from the Earth's deep wells of power. But the Magic Association's wizards were cunning, and the Tuners both mighty and relentless. Setting foot on Earth seemed to spring up a magic warrior with every step. And with the advent of the Time-Space Administration Bureau, even the magic worlds were no longer truly safe for the demon kings.

Nobody is entirely sure who first approached the kings of Dark Fall. Some say it was the High Priest of Cephiro, who knew the greed of the Fallen would be of use to him in his quest. Others believe the Queen of the Dark Kingdom, Beryl, drew them naturally to her as her black soul burst back into the world. Perhaps it was the Obsidian Lord, reaching out from his prison of stone to bring his brothers home; or perhaps it was the Desert King, his interstellar Castle Planet acting as a beacon to the darkness. Perhaps it was something darker and more terrible still than any of these, a cosmic, omnipotent malevolence, simply calling out to the seeds of itself...

Who truly devised the idea to unite the Fallen once more is ultimately arbitrary. They have returned. They now work with one, unifying goal: To acquire every scrap of power and artifice they can find, tearing free souls and digging out ruins, toward the end of domination and destruction. Many don't care what happens to the Earth, so long as they get their dues; there are, after all, many more worlds than this.

Dark Fall is the organization for demon kings and dark empires. Most of the Fallen barely understand humanity as more than a second-hand concept, as freshman anthropology students might understand a foreign land. Others have an intellectual grasp of their prey, but hold them as little more than that.

In terms of leadership, the Fallen are a rowdy, egotistical bunch, but they will obey, for they know that disobedience brings swift and painful death - if you're lucky. The leaders of Dark Fall know they have a shared agenda and work with each other gamely, for often the success of one guarantees the success of all - after all, it will be far easier to scour souls for hidden treasures when the world has been destroyed, and the humans reduced to scrabbling to survive.

It is extremely rare for the masters of Dark Fall to hail from Earth, although some rare few rogue mages have fallen so deeply into darkness that they feel quite at home with Dark Fall's malignancy. And of course, the demon kings do adore their puppets...stripped of their will, or willfully steeped in darkness, the human pawns of the Fallen are many.

It should be remembered that, although Dark Fall's constituents are usually nonhuman, that does not make them /in/human. Many are social and even pleasant to be around until they start tearing out souls. Indeed, often, the Fallen seem to conform to exaggerations of human norms. They gossip among each other just like any other group, hanging out in lounges made of everything from granite to luxurious silks - they are hardly simply formless puppets that exist only to be beaten. In fact, many Fallen even go out among the humans, not preying but simply...observing, perhaps even socializing. It's not uncommon to see Trio the Minor at the local cake shop, and a few people are pretty sure they've seen Jadeite lingering at cafes, minding his own business. Many Fallen have disguises or Recognition Inhibition spells to allow this, though not all bother. After all, surely only the most crazed and violent of magical girls would accost someone who's simply enjoying a refreshing bowl of shaved ice by the beach!
