End of exam season and some semi-related thoughts

Last two weeks has been rather stressful to me, as I had to write ten exam papers day after day - fortunately, only one of them has been particularly difficult so I hope I passed everything. By the way, dear english native speakers, is Clement Atlee considered such an important figure in british history that a question "List the reforms passed by Clement Atlee's cabinet" can be rightfully included into an exam paper for students who have so far learned about Stuart Restoration?
Now I'm having a short (a week long) holidays and since there are no more exams in the near future, I can finally devote my time to translations. I have picked up three doujinshis, two in polish and one in italian, and am currently waiting for the translators' consent for translating. I hope everything will turn out alright.
We have to write an essay for english literature on a chosen 20th Century Black American writer. I thought about Zora Hurston at first, but later "discovered" James Baldwin. He was an interesting person - bisexual himself, he often made gay or bisexual males leading characters of his novels. He was also one of very first to point out similarities between racism and homophobia, and suggested that different minorities should join forces to defend their rights. He was definitely a person who has outgrown his times.
To celebrate end of examination session I went to a bookstore and bought Miyazaki's film "Ponyo", Virginia Woolf's novel "Orlando" and Suzanne Collins' novel "Mockingbird". I'll write a review post after finishing them.
Recent winter in whole Europe has been the coldest one since 2003. Today at noon the temperature has reached -23 degree Celcius, brrr! I fear that some thermophilic plants in our garden won't survive :( Oh, poor magnolia, rhododendrons, azaleas, vine bush and tonsils...
