Crinoid

My Saturday.

I woke up realizing it was the first Saturday in months that I have not been traveling.
I promptly made plans to go to Ithaca with my best friend. :-)
I knew she needed me.

We went to hear a lecture on seashells by a prominent Paleontologist who's name escapes me. He discussed the relationship between prey and predator in the shell world. It was great to hear such a great orator. The art of eloquent speech is rarely performed so well. I also happened to enjoy what he was saying. Some of the terminology was a bit over my head, as certain periods of time on earth were referred to. It's been awhile since I read anything about earth's history.

The lecture was at The Museum of the Earth. They have wonderful displays and many fossils. I got to see a bunch of trilobites. I also learned that humans, and all animals with vertabra, have evolved from Crinoids.

Crinoids have the nickname "Sea Lillies" I of course took this literally upon seeing them, since they look like plant life. I laughed and looked at my friend and said "Evolved from plants?" Haha. She gave me an incredulous look. Then I said "Oh, nickname" :-)

I have concluded then that we are all basically just stems with brains on top.
Now if you all could just remember your roots and stay grounded like our ancestor, Crinoid.

I learned a lot of things yesterday, but I have not retained all of the words in order to speak about it fluently.

Then we had lunch at The Ithaca Bakery. Always fantastic. A conversation lasting about two hours followed. I find myself having intense spiritual conversations with my closest friends as of late. This one led to moments of possible healing for her. I hope I boosted her energy.

It's a strange place I am in now. I've never been so sure of things before.
