What an action-packed weekend that was. Friday I hurridly changed at work and met with the
rivetmike and we headed to Waterloo to get the choo-choo to Southampton. The journay didn't take too long [1 hr 1/2] and we managed to blag 1st class seats [the compartments were pretty empty] while some sillies stood in the normal carriages ha ha. The wikkid peeps Katy and fella picked us up from the station [thank you!] and we drove to the venue so Mike could have a play about on the decks.
The venue was really nice and brand new - with the dancefloors overlooking the docks and a refiney [?] so you could get real cheesy blade runner esque effects.
Mike had an hour on each floor the Industrial and the metal floor. The Industrial set went stompingly well with the floor filled with happy bopping people and the metal floor went really well too. I had to wonder about some people though in particular one guy who asked to look through Mikes CD's [like you are gonna hand your CD's to someone on the dancefloor] and then asked if he could have a go mixing? WTF??? Drinks consisted of 'corkys' double flavoured voddy with lemonade and possibly a few too many. i wouldn't advise drinking the cherry all night as it left me feeling rather ick! It was great to see
shiftplusone again *waves*. We stayed for the rest of the club and Katy dropped us at the Station and we had only 30 min to wait before first train at 5.10. Touch. This train was propa slow though so a nice 2 1/2 hour journey was had... Booo!
Home meant some bubbas before up again to get ready to hook up with
scarlet_hel and
flux_omega for Lil G's Birfday Smashbox style. HO-OOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
We had some alkymahol and filmage viewing which consisted of:
Ice Cream Man The most god awful excuse for a film. The lead 'crazy' is the most unscary killer in the history of horror films. Bad acting, thin plot.
Drawn Together 'toon time :) The first series of a bunch of cartoon characters in a reality tv show. Ling Ling [based on pikachu] is the best character by far.
Leprechaun A leprechaun goes on a killing spree the little bugger.
Dark City Watched this years ago and missed the last half hour or so. Brilliant film. It looks amazing and the story unfolds wonderfully - go see it!
We left Casa del Hels around 1-ish as we were taking Rivetmom to dinner at 6.00 although we would have loved to stay longer it was pretty important we tried to sober up a little! So after some lazing at home we eventually got our little butts to Rivetmoms and headed for the Uffizi.
Dinner was NYOM! Having to chase my broccoli around my plate proved quite amusing and although I would like to say we 'held it down' well I cannot. After foodage we went back to drink more alkymahol with Mikes Brother and play some PS2 for which I was awake and waffling for a while until I passed out.
Yesterday work was not going to happen. Content that my previous weeks of being sick and the fact I rarely take a day off ill will mean I can happily have the day off - I slept most of Monday. Blissimo.
Mike returned from work, sausage pasta was eaten and Hellevator watched.
Hellevator - the bottled fools is a strange film but by no means a bad one. It is set in the future where Japans citizens live underground and use a series of lifts to travel through the city. In one particular elevator a telepathic schoolgirl, a rapist cannibal, a bomber, a terrorist biochemist, a mother and 'child' and a telepathic boy in headphones, policeman and elevator conductress take a trip ending in many a death. It's an interesting watch.
Today I got my 'back to work interview' which makes me laugh especially when I have not had any days off sick this year and she tries to make me feel guilty asking me if I understand the implications on other members of staff when I am sick. HA HA HA No-one does my work when I am on holiday and I leave instructions let alone when I am off sick so who does it effect exactly?
Still I have had hot cross buns and a cup of tea so life's all good.
Aaanyways that was the weekend that was and it's almost luncheon now [Woooot!]
