Weekend
Yesterday we went to a hotrod show on the waterfront, then to Bodyrock, a breakdancing contest at Civic Square (after lunch and (soy) milkshakes). I haven't had much exposure to hip hop culture before, and it was really interesting. Breakdancing is fun to watch, and the whole things seems really participative, like, if you can do it, you just jump in and do it. There was also beatboxing (that guy I've seen around Welly is the three times NZ champion), and funk. The only downside to the day was that they took almost an hour after the last battle to announce the winner, by which time we were really really tired.
In other news, I am doing a backup, and I only have 2 days and 20 hours remaining! 61% through. Whew.
Today, (apart from washing clothes,) we plan to go to Leonardo's Picnic, for markets, music, and flying machines.
