A Guide to Escape the Clutches of the Modern Post Editor

Jan 25, 2022 23:54

- Hello, have you not posted in a long time or at all?
- Have your posts been subject to hours and hours of beclownment because ya background is not purple when you submit the post only to realize it’s too late?
- Are you tired (I know I am) of users saying the layout looks ugly when they should just ummm partake in the post?
- Well, let me help me help you help you help me

If you have not posted in a long time or it is your first time posting, check your settings as this is where the “New Editor” or the “Modern Post Editor” format option is and for some it may already be checked. NOTE: If you're originally in the "legacy"/old editor, you'll see a little blurb that says "Try out our Modern Post Editor".

IF YOU CLICKED THIS LITTLE HEFFA JUST ONCE, EVEN JUST TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE, YOUR POST SETTINGS WILL AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE SO THAT ALL SUBSEQUENT POSTS WILL BE IN THE NEW EDITOR FORMAT. SO BASICALLY, DON'T BE CURIOUS.

Okay, I am calm now.

If you go to make a post for ONTD and the page looks like this below, STOP. Because if you don’t, you finna get dragged.

How do you change the post format in the settings? Just follow these instructions:

1. Go to Profile
2. Select the “DISPLAY” tab
3. Find the viewing option that says, USE MODERN POST EDITOR, then unselect

Here’s a visual since I lichrully just learned how to make a GIF at my big age. After you deselect the option, a small dialog box will come up that says “Save Your Changes”, such as this picture. Please be sure to click “OK”. Or just scroll to the blue “SAVE” button at the bottom.

But beysactingcoach!

Me, in your mind: … Yes?

I already submitted the post, can I change it back without having redo the whole post?

Me, in your mind replying: Why, yes of course!

There's was a nice guide written by ONTD's own just444, just click here! But I'm an old lady who learned to makes GIFs, so also behold!

This post was brought to you my a suggestion from your lovely mod treenotree and from viewers like you, thank you!
