Who's Who: William:
moldedofaults The 'Further Adventures' of Simm!Doctor and Tennant!Master can be found at
preferthesky and
madbutnotill respectively.
A Matter of Degree: The verse that starts it all. After many attempts by the Doctor to help the Master and many attempts by the Master to drive the Doctor mad, the Doctor gets it in his head to fobwatch the other to make him more manageable. This does not come about because his sanity is in tact. After a forcible fobwatching, the Doctor is left to work with William, the fairly insane construct that had been created.
They settle in a hospital, the Doctor saying he's well, a doctor, and William is admitted as a patient. They stay there for a decade until the Doctor determines that no, this isn't working and returns the fobwatch before disappearing.
The Master returns, tracks the Doctor down and more fun ensues, including a mutual regeneration into each other.
Hospitalverse: The Doctor plays a fairly small role in this verse but because William is involved, naturally he isn't too far. William manages to befriend an
AU of the Doctor's hand who managed to get himself checked into the hospital. Once Theta is rescued by
the fellow he travels with", he asks William to come along, despite the fact that, while Theta should not have actually been there, William actually had a reason to.
The Doctor is not thrilled by this but lets him go, if only because while the two had been in the hospital together, William did seem to have a positive response.
He starts travelling again, though there are frequent visits with the others to make sure things are going well. Eventually, the Doctor comes less and less until he leaves the fobwatch with them.
Adorableverse: After six years of staying in the hospital, things seem to take a turn for the better until William is finally released. The Doctor is hesitant to leave him to his own devices, so in his infinite wisdom, He throws on a perception filter and tells William that he's merely a hallucination. William gets a cottage, a job as a handyman and pursues a normal life while the Doctor is at his side, trying to make sure everything runs smoothly and, when it doesn't, he does what he can to help.
Addictedverse: This is Adorableverse gone very, very wrong. William develops a rather unhealthy dependance on the Doctor and when he disappears for a time, William stops taking his medication in an effort to bring him back. When he does return, the Doctor finds him much worse and he finds that leaving for any length of time is no longer an option, as WIlliam will stop taking the pills all over again. It gets to the point where the Doctor is unable to be in a diferent room and even then there is concern on William's part.
Archangelversebranch: In Adorableverse, while it is as the name implies, there is also a time limit. William never does manage to live long enough to see Archangel launch. Except in these verses.
This goes one of three ways.
- The crazy (In which, as you might guess, William starts downsliding again until he feels that it's best to check himself back into the hospital.)
- The drums (In which the drums are driven to extremes).
- The Master.(in which the Master's personality is awakened and envelopes Williams).
Love is Stronger than Justice: This is technically part of the Archangel branch. Instead of staying though, the Doctor takes William for a two year hop through time and space. This? Is really the most positive verse we get out of the Archangel verses.
Adventure is Just One Mistake Away: So, there's this pandimensional Inn that occasionally likes to pull a bit of mischief. This time, the mischief comes in the form of turning William into a Time Lord. however, it is important to note that the fobwatch was never opened, so William was the one who got Time Lorded. Everything is still there, just severely reduced, leaving William to be much more sane. The Doctor explains things (if not a little vaguely) and once everything is settled (i.e. William stops having the urge to throw random objects at the Doctor's head), they go off and explore the universe.
