If you wander into the Conrad Hotel's basement and walk the hallways you'll hear the faint strain of music. Go ahead and follow the sound...It will lead you towards the common room

Nate's restless. And bored. And wandering the halls barefoot in pajama bottoms and one of the white T-shirts he's modified to make room for his wings, trying to decide whether he should grab some coffee and put on a movie, or take some sleeping pills and go to sleep like a normal person. Someone else went all night without sleeping too, for no real reason other than that he couldn't.
This train of thought is derailed when he hears music, and follows it until he reaches the common room. And then he's left standing in the common room door, frowning a little at Mat's girlfr- Rose. Rose is her name.
Because he's a big, tough angel (or so he likes to think). She's not, and therefore, she should be sleeping at a time like this. Not... randomly dancing. With alcohol. Or something.
"I'm dancing, and will subsequently probably get drunk, then I will continue to dance until I'm exhausted and then I'll take a shower and have a cup of coffee. Probably. Maybe. Unless something better comes along, I suppose."
The smiles she offers him is cheeky, and she holds out her hand invitingly.
"You're welcome to join me. Some exercise should help you sleep and the best way to do that is to dance."
"And is sleep anywhere in this schedule?" he asks, eying her hand with some bemusement, though he doesn't take it just yet. He shifts his wings, refolds them against his back.
Nate rolls his eyes, and finally steps forward, taking her hand. "You know, my brother would get all mother hen if he found out you hadn't slept. But he's always like that, so I won't tell."
Rose tugs his hand and pulls him closer to herself, in perfect sync to the music, and for a moment she just dances, lip syncing the lyrics to the music before she replies with a roll of her own eyes and a sassy smile.
"Oh there are plenty of people who'd give me what for if they knew I wasn't sleeping. Mat. Jack. The Doctor. But they're not here so why should I worry? Though I appreciate the fact you're not gonna tattle on me. Though I wonder what Mat would say if he knew you weren't sleeping?"
Here, have another sassy smile. Rose snatches up Nate's other hand and maneuvers the two of them into a complex series of steps that look straight out of a music video.
"So long as they don't know, I can stay up as long as I want. And I doubt any of them are going to be wandering around."
"If you say so," he says, starting to grin a little. Yeah, Mat'll get pissed at him for not sleeping, but he's not scared of his little brother. If he gets too annoying, he can always shove him in a closet. Rose, Nate is pretty sure, doesn't have that option.
Rose is leading the dancing - Nate doesn't really dance... at all. A lot of that's probably that since he was seventeen, he hasn't had much opportunity for it...
Rose Tyler is a firm believer that dancing can fix just about anything. Look at her past. Dancing made her a friend in Jack, and also helped to solidify something between her and the Doctor, dancing with Charlie made helped her a lot. Yep. Rose Tyler and dancing, the cures to almost any ailment.
With this thought pattern reigning in her mind she steps up a little closer to Nate so that her movements can be easily mirrored and she falls into a pattern that is relaxing in its simplicity.
"I do say so. And I'm probably right. Unless one of those three show up, I can either bluff my way out of it or not even worry about it. I doubt you're about to haul me off to bed, so I'm pretty sure I'm set to do as I please."
She's slowly moving them further into the room. Afterall, dancing is a great way to get to know someone, and if she and Mat are close, well Rose wants to make an effort to get to know Nate too.
She rolls her eyes and openly laughs, as if the suggestion that he might is hilarious to her.
"Nate, please. You physically could but I doubt that you ever would because from what I've noticed, you like breaking the rules too."
Rose has gotten them near the cooler and she grabs herself a Smirnoff Twisted, opening it in a smooth motion while she still keeps the beat, taking a drink easily.
"Help yourself, if you want anything."
Its about this time where the music reaches a crescendo and Rose very nearly spills her drink in her sporadic movements that really look more like a spaz-attack then actual dancing.
Nate can't help but laugh a little at her spastic dancing, shaking his head a little in amusement. "Me? Break the rules? Really, Rose, you've got me all wrong. I'm perfectly well-behaved. Mat's the troublemaker between the two of us."
Okay, he can't even keep a straight face saying that.
He raises his eyebrows, doing his best to look innocent. "What have I ever done to make you believe I might cause trouble, huh? And things Mat tells you don't count - he lies."
"One troublemaker knows another. You've got the right personality for it, and, well Mat isn't. One of you has to be, and he's so anti-troublemaker I'm going to have to work double time to make up for it."
Not that she minds. In fact, she finds Mat to be the most endearing, adorable person to ever have entered her life.
"Besides, you're up this late. That kinda automatically puts you in the troublemaker category."
Wait..that logic...doesn't work. Oh well, its late and Rose doesn't always think clearly.

"Rose?"

"Hullo Nate!"
There is far, far too much cheerfulness in a voice that should be exhausted.
She hops off the table lightly (in heels! How does she do that?!) and dances her way over to him, stopping about three feet away, still moving.
"What're you still doing up?"
Right, you're one to talk missy.

Yes, she really does believe that.

"Yeah...well...eventually. When I'm tired I guess, but I'm not tired yet so I don't see why I should worry about sleep now."
The song changes and after the intro, Rose laughs.
"I love this song," she says as her dancing becomes more involved with the music and lyrics, "so I think you should join me for at least one dance."
By now she looks down right mischievous.

He's smiling, though, and doesn't look at all like he's going to pick her up and carry her to bed (or to Mat) any time soon.

"Yeah, Mat's the troublemaker and I'm not a trouble magnet. In fact, I've never gotten myself into trouble a single time."
Even though Nate might not understand that comparison, Rose makes it anyway with a smirk.
"Try again, sweetheart. I'll try to believe you."
