Not all the unexpected snowballs come from the trees or the snowmen. There's a rather cheerful Marauder hiding his wand with one arm and shooting spells. They're all a bit of playful mischief, adding to the snowballs being thrown around or cause snow to avalanche off a branch, the occasional streaks of light -- nothing worse than a couple of quickly ended dance-inducing jinxes.

He's enjoying both watching and contributing to the snowball fight enough, and a little wrapped up in competition with one of the snowmen -- both trying to pin their volleys on the other -- so he hasn't noticed the mistletoe popping up over his head yet.

Martha's quite used to these winter shenanigans after four years in the Rift. She's participating in the snow ball fight as well, and she's been hit quite a few times by various snowballs. Martha laughs as she's hit by another, and she notices Remus in the mess.

She notices mistletoe, and she's accustomed to how they have a habit of following people in the Rift. Of course, she isn't going to tell him that. She'll simply walk up to him with a "Hello" before she leans in to try to kiss him.

It's when she pulls up that she points up. "Couldn't shun that holiday tradition now, could I?"

Remus looks rather pleased when he sees Martha walking up to him, and he's about to return her greeting when, quite suddenly, he's being kissed. It's not exactly expected, so it takes him a moment to stop being completely confused and just decide to go with it.

When Martha pulls away, he follows her pointing and laughs. "Of course you couldn't," he agrees, shaking his head, and then fixes her with a warm smile. "Hello, Martha. How are you?"

Martha has to laugh slightly at the confused expression on his face. She pulls back with a smile as she watches the confusion turn into laughter when she points out the mistletoe.

"I apologize if I took you by surprise there," she says after a moment, folding her arms across her chest with a warm smile of her own. "Hello. I'm quite fine. I do love winter in Chicago. How are you?"

"It's quite alright," he assures her. "I'm fine. Enjoying the festivities. Does it always get this enthusiastic this time of year?"

Martha smiles at him in turn when he says it's alright. Well, even if it wasn't, it's too late to take back that particular kiss.

"That's good that you're enjoying them, it's the best that one can do in these situations," she says after a moment. "Yes, it gets this enthusiastic each December that I can remember in Chicago. No idea why. You'd think there'd be a reason it was so active consecutively on this month."

Tonks is walking through the park. She has a cup of hot chocolate in hand and despite her recent loss, she's feeling pretty decent. However, despite it being a good improvement it is only temporary.

As the Narration previously stated, Tonks is walking through the park. She is minding her own business until a volley of snowballs descend on her. Tonks shrieks. Her hands come up to protect her face and in the process she drops her hot chocolate.

"Oh, bugger! When I get my hands on..." Her cursing is muffled by a second volley.
