But what she finds instead when she gets there is that the snow is rainbow coloured. She's very impressed by this, even though she doesn't realize what it actually is. She's just going to stand and admire it.
"Oh, wow," she breathes, "This is wonderful!"
If someone could tell her it's edible, that would be appreciated. Luna likes sweet things and the narration is very sure she'd like this.

As a scientific mind, he has observed the ground, the 'snow', the ice cream, and he's seen how it's been protected by the Rift. None of the ice cream seems to be dirty at all, even when he tries to make it dirty, the dirt bounces right off.
He notices Luna, suppresses a squeal because LUNA LOVEGOOD and hands her a spoon.
"It's tasty wonderful!"

He's holding out a spoon and it does look like it might taste as good as it looks. She takes the spoon with a nod of her head in thanks, but she still pauses to consider.
"But wouldn't it be a shame to eat it?" she asks him with a small tilt of her head, "It looks so wonderful as it is,"
Reply
Like his cousin and him used to have contests over eating, and Tim would always win, but they would put away a lot of food in that short amount of time.
"No, it would be more of a shame not to eat it, and look! More is falling from the sky!" Mark opens his mouth, stick out his tongue and catches some rainbow sherbert. Pff, he's totally an adult.

Stooping a little, she scoops out a spoonful and shoves it in her mouth. She' pauses for a moment. How strange, she doesn't seem to be getting brain freeze from it. Oh!
"... this is wonderful!" she says around the spoon before taking it out, ice cream gone. "I've not had anything quite like it! I think this might be my favourite pudding, it's just... Wow..."
Luna loves Chicago. She might be the only one who does, but she does.

The rest know the characters because of the nerds in the family. Ahem.
"Right?" He laughs as he takes another bite of it. "It's Rainbow Sherbert icecream. You've seriously never had any before? I almost want to feel bad for you. I think I kind of do."
He presses a hand against his chest.
"My heart." Mark 'falls over' on to the ice cream hill behind him, dramatically.

"Well, not like this," she says, "I've never seen the Rift make this before. But puddings-wise, I've been trying to stick with the ones I know, the ones I had back home. It's very comforting when one is homesick,"
She misses Angel Delight, though. One day she will discovered online shopping and buy all the Angel Delight.
Luna giggles as he 'falls' into the ice cream hill. "Oh, please don't worry. I think you're quite safe now, seeing as you've introduced me to it," she says, toasting him with another spoonful.

"Oh, that's true. Have you been homesick a lot?" This is Mark's puppyfais of Baw. The concern in his eyes is impossible to miss as he looks at her, headtilted slightly. "What's your favorite kind of pudding?"
He asks this while taking a bite of the spoon before he falls over.
Mark smiles from his spot against the hill. "That is absolutely true. You're welcome. Well, technically the Rift did all of this so..." He lifts up a spoon and toasts it against hers. "Thank you, Rift. You're beautiful sometimes. ...also, I know you're a wanderer because I'm an angel and I mean you no harm."
Ahem.

Luna notes the puppyfais with a small, sad smile, how kind. "Sometimes. I do miss my Dad a lot, I worry about how he's doing on his own now that I'm here. I have friends here from my world, which is nice. But... I do miss home," she tells him, a hint of sadness in her voice.
She tilts her head to the side and stares into space for a few moments, thinking on this. It'll be her first Christmas away from home. She's going to miss that. Christmas at the Lovegood's is never dull.
Blinking softly, she looks at Mark again, "Oh. I like Angel Delight. But you can't buy it here, which is a shame. Is yours ice cream?" she replies, smiling at pointing at his spoon.
Luna's smile brightens and raises her spoon lazily to toast the Rift, "Yes, thank you, Rift," and then when Mark mentions he's an angel, she blinks owlishly. "That's nice." she says dreamily, "Do you like being an angel?"
Reply
Mark looks over at her, nodding in response. "Yeah, that's understandable especially if you two were close and you must have been. I think you're going to miss home, no matter what, but this can be a home too someday. Maybe. Two homes in a way," he says, and he says this knowing he has no experience with it himself.
He doesn't know what it would be like to be ripped from his universe and all he knew... into someplace that is completely new. Mark doesn't know that he'd cope very well with it which is why he admires wanderers so much.
"Angel Delight? I've never even heard of it. I bet you could order it though. They even have stores that sell food from overseas and stuff, I'll look into it for you," Mark says with a grin, and has he even introduced himself yet? "I'm... Mark, yes, and I love ice cream. Usually more into strawberry or other whacky flavors, but I'm digging the rainbow sherbet ( ... )

It's not one of the easiest things to adjust to and it's something Luna wouldn't wish on anyone, but she seems to have adjusted well. People find it hard to believe that, but that's just Luna being Luna.
"Ooh, it's lovely. It's light and fluffy, I'd definitely suggest trying it. I like the chocolate and butterscotch ones the best," she tells him, and then her face lights up. "You would? That would be very kind of you ( ... )

Mark glances down when she talks about her mom and what happened to her. "That sound really terrible," he says, glancing back up at her. He is not good with death, doesn't handle it very well at all. "I hope that you can. It might help even more."
Because there doesn't seem to be a way to get back. He is heavily involved in the research and they are no closer to finding a way back now than they were a hundred years ago even with the smartest minds working on it.
"I'll have to look into it. You could probably get it somewhere, and it sound lovely thanks to your wonderful description of it," Mark says with a small smile as he look over at her. "Yeah, of course! It's the least that I could do ( ... )

"It was," she says with a small nod, "But it's alright, it gets easier. I miss her and I still get sad sometimes, but it is easier," Luna is very good with death and dealing with it through experience, but she can understand how others can't be. Death is never truly easy.
She smiles brightly at him, "Oh, it's the best. You should try it too, if you happen to ever get any," Angel Delight party, Mark?
Luna nods her head, "Thank you, that's very kind of you to offer," she pauses and smiles a little more, "I like to help too. Should you ever require it too, I can help as well,"
There's another nod at his question, "I do. It's very strange there, American education is a lot different to where I'm from," she says, "It's nice to learn things from a new perspective, but I do miss my old lessons,"
