Alek Hale has lived in Chicago most of his life.
He has lived in it with his pack of werewolf brothers, raised solely by his mother until she passed away. There isn't much he knows about his own history aside from that--for good reason, some would say. He doesn't know who his father is. He doesn't know why so many things about them should be kept secret. There are many questions a boy his age grows to have when he starts searching, without knowing entirely what it is he's searching for. No one ever answered him, and Alek soon enough understood why they never said anything.
They didn't think he could handle the truth.
And now he's been smacked in the face with it, with a brother he didn't know he had, a brother that couldn't have cared less about Alek or the fact he didn't have a clue about his existence. Alek's a werewolf. Carrying the werewolf gene often means there's anger in your veins far more powerful than most people's. Rage that at times doesn't seem to fit your body.
Anger comes easily to him, and he gets into fights just as easily. He knows if he doesn't cool down, bad things could happen, whether it's a full moon or not. He ends up at a pool hall he visits frequently. It's a popular hangout, especially for the younger crowd, and he's looking for distractions. He starts by playing pool with whoever is game, he ends up almost getting into a fight, and ultimately, he ends up at the back, staring sullenly at a drink he can't bring himself to take a sip of just yet.
He hates everything sometimes.
