Remus is still geniefied, but today he's wandering around the Kashtta. Somebody found his lamp and then ran away before they found out what was in it, so he's free to wander until somebody else picks him up.

He wanders into the cafeteria, and he stops short in the doorway when he recognizes Harry sitting there.

(It takes him a minute to actually figure out it is Harry, and not a very young James that wandered through the Rift.)

He takes the seat across from him carefully, trying not to stare openly, at least until he has some idea what's going on. "Harry?"

Harry is eating a cracker when he hears the voice that he doesn't recognize yet. He looks up, wondering who it is that knows him and recognizes him. He is supposed to be somewhere entirely different after all, and he didn't think he was famous here like he was back home.

However, he doesn't recognize the man.

"Yes, sir?"

He adjusts the glasses, and Hedwig takes flight around the cafeteria.

"How do you know me?"

He watches Hedwig fly for a few moments, weighing his options, before finally settling on, "I -- know you when you're older. I don't know how much people have told you about how it works here, but that happens sometimes. How long have you been here?"

"Only since I woke up," Harry says with a nod as he looks at him. "I saw Hermione earlier and she told me there were a lot of people who knew me here, and she explained them all to me so I wouldn't be too surprised. Who are you?"

[askthemoon]

"Remus Lupin. I'm glad you found Hermione already," he says with a small smile. "She's very good at explaining what you need to know, or at least I thought so when she found me."

[bbharry]

"Oh, she told me about you! She said that I'd like you and that you knew my father," Harry says after a moment, and his eyes have widened behind the glasses, because he really, really thinks Remus is amazing now. "Did you know him really well?"

[askthemoon]

He's surprised for a moment -- he hadn't expected Harry to know who he is, let alone to know that. But it's only for a moment, and then he smiles, and nods. "I did. Your father was one of my best friends, ever since my first year of Hogwarts. We were in Gryffindor together. He was -- he was like my brother," he says, his smiles growing a little sad as he continues.

Harry watches him, enthralled by the fact that he exists and he knew his father. It's always enough to excite him to know that he spoke and knew his father.

"I'm sorry. You lost him," he says and it's quiet for a moment. Curiosity hits him. "What was he like?"

He shouldn't be surprised by the question. He should be expecting it, but the appearance of a Harry so much younger than the one he knows had thrown him, and the talk of James hasn't done much to put him back on track.

So it takes him a moment of surprised silence before he smiles gently at Harry and answers, "He was a great man. Your father was one of the most generous people I knew. James never let a friend want for anything he could provide."
