He's not against conversation, he's just prone to waiting for other people to start it, and a little preoccupied trying to catch the bartender's attention.
Hopefully there will be no monsters tonight. Or explosions. Peter really doesn't want to deal with crazy rift antics, he just wants a beer. The rift does not always care, though.

Peter has probably seen Mio around the Tower quite a few times before. She spends nearly all of her time there, after all. It's just that with all of her duties she tends to be too busy to talk with individual residents as much as she'd like.
"Good evening," Mio greets Peter absent-mindedly as he sits down. She hadn't really been paying attention to him, but she'd seen him in passing before just enough times that she does a double-take. "...You look a bit familiar. You wouldn't happen to live at the Kashtta Tower, would you?" she asks.

He's asked around enough to have some idea of the people in charge of some kind, and he's mostly sure he's right. He hasn't had to actually talk to anybody in charge yet, but it seemed like a good idea to have an idea who to go to in case of anything.

"And yes, working far too much definitely goes with the territory. Always too many things to do and not enough people to do them. At least things have been pretty quiet lately, now that that whole Roderick Usher situation has been resolved." That whole mess was a pain and a half--literally, in Mio's case.
