Trin beams. "Thanks!" she says. "I just turned TWENTY-FUCKING-ONE which means as soon as I can get enough cash I gotta go get a legit ID or something because I don't have one and it SUCKS because now I'm LEGAL, BABY!"

She giggles a little bit. "Aw. That's too bad! You should have gotten here earlier, you could have come and it would have been a GREAT TIME. THE BEST TIME." She knows he's a Wanderer, but it doesn't matter to Trin, angel, demon, wanderer, mundane human. THEY'RE ALL THE SAME TO HER.

Trin vigorously wipes her eyes. "Yeah but. It's like. STUFF there and." Really, that thought just hadn't crossed her mind. "Do you think they'd really let me?" she asks, trying not to sound hopeful but totally failing. "Do you think they'd let me live there?"

Trin's been kicked out of she-can't-count-how-many apartments in the past. She's not a very good tenant, and turning into a giant dog doesn't really help her case much. So the thought of not having to be homeless is. Sort of exciting to her, and nerve-wracking at the same time. What if they don't let her in?

There is a moment of '...' and he laughs, half-uncertainly, half out of lacking anything else to do. "My apologies for missing out on what clearly appears to be the event of the year," he tells her, smiling back at her when she giggles.

At least she is crying a bit less.

"I see no reason why they wouldn't," Nikolas assures her with the vehement shake of her head. She is... unconventional, of course, but he believes the point of the Tower is that any and all can find refuge there. "It's supposed to be a sanctuary for anyone that needs it, free room and board. You deserve to have that as much as any of us. Everyone should have a roof over their heads."

He opens his mouth and closes it. "I was--actually on my way over there," he lies. Nikolas isn't sure yet if he's planning no living there or not, but he was going to scope it out, just in case. "Will you walk with me? We might get you a room."

The alternative is leaving here here, and he's too much of a gentleman for that. She's young, and she shouldn't be left homeless.

"That's okay," Trin says. "I mean, really in the end it's your loss, so I guess I'm sorry you missed out." Her logic is flawless, really.

Of course, his logic of "Everyone should have a roof over their heads" doesn't make much sense to her. She hasn't really had a stable place of residence since Christmas of the year she got her wings. She looks at him, sort of confused.

But then... if he's willing to take her. "Wo... would you really? Seriously?" she asks haltingly. "That would be."

And then before he has a chance to retract that statement, she throws her arms around him in a massive hug. "Thank you!" she almost yells. The tears are back on the rise. Sorry, Nikolas.

Nikolas bites back an amused and incredulous expression. "I'm terribly sorry for the same thing," he says, with such a deadpanned expression one would be hard-pressed to question the sentiment of it.

It truly is flawless logic.

"Of course I would."

He is not sure what to do in this circumstance. She is unstable, he determines, but something about her makes him helpless to do anything but place his hand at her back soothingly. "You're welcome," he says with a small laugh, and he would not have retracted his statement, Trin.

Nikolas stands back and offers his arm for her to take. "Shall we?"

Trin sighs calmly. "Well, there's always next year!" she cries. "Or next week. Or tomorrow. I could arrange a party tonight, if you want. Any time." She beams at him. He could come any time! They could party! It would be awesome!

Trin is so happy to think about the fact that she has a stable place to go if she needs it. And that this man is helping her (that he's rather attractive is like a double bonus). Just. Right when things were looking really bad, now they're looking WONDERFUL. "Yes please," she says, leaning into the touch just a little bit.
