sometimes it lasts in love and sometimes it hurts instead.

Dean Winchester has been sent home. Or rather, that's what Jo Harvelle would like to think. She'd rather Dean be sent back to some place that's familiar instead of some other Rift-like universe, God knowing what else would be in store for him. It's been days now and Jo hasn't let herself think about it, save to force herself to believe he's back where he belongs. Not that life back home was peachy, either. At least he'd have some version of Sam and Castiel.

She hopes that, too.

It's late at night and Jo can be found at the Crowbar, and there aren't many patrons left in the bar. Jo's recently finished her shift and instead of heading back to the Kashtta as she's wont to do, she sits down on one of the bar stools and orders a drink, heavy on the whiskey. Maybe if she drinks enough, she can pretend she doesn't give a crap. ... She'll be terrible company. Fair warning.

Sam Winchester isn't drinking. No, that was last night after a grueling patrol session where he worked out all his pent-up anger, and while he's severely hung over, he hasn't started to drink again. That might change considering how he's feeling, but for right now, he's just going to sit on the roof of the Kashtta Tower, looking over the city.

Or what's been left of it thanks to the latest Rift disaster.

Sam doesn't want to be here without Dean. ... He'll be terrible company, too. Fair warning.
